going from a brake hard line to AN
 
What are you doing to go back and forth from hard brake lines to AN soft lines? I am redoing my brakes and going to put a bunch of hard line in. I ran soft everywhere and regret it. So anyways. I need to convert from 1/4" hard line to -4 AN and back a bunch of times. I know I could use a 45 degree fitting on the hard line, and then a flare to an adapter, and then a an fitting.

I was hoping there would be something that takes out the middle adapter fitting...

So your saying youve got 45 degree hardline? I just did single flare with tube sleevs and nuts and a union to my softline. Those are nifty brakeline to an flare though!

Rol-Air 37 degree single flaring tool. It's what the airplane hobbyists use. Makes nifty 37 degree AN flares so you will only need the 1/4 tubing, tube nuts, and sleeves. I just finished re-plumbing my jeep and it was a piece of cake. I will never use inverted flare again.

I've been runnig 45* flare to AN fittings for over a year with no problems. Why you might ask, cause I had to get my Jeep ready for the con and only had a few days and couldn't source a 37* flaring tool. But they have worked fine so far. I plan to redo them soon however.

Why are you running 1/4"/ AN #4 brake lines?

They make a compression to AN also. Look on summit. They have just about every fitting you would want.

the mog calipers use 6mm/.25" hard line to get in them, so when I was plumbing it I already had to use 1/4" for part of it, so I said hell with it and used 1/4" for all of it.

Do you have a link to the tube nuts and sleeves you are talking about? I can find a 37 flare tool, but dont know what nuts and sleeves you are talking about.

hey x-rated, what didnt you like about your full flex line system? spongy? what type of brakes, calipers, master cylinders, etc?

i recently scrapped the hardline and adapters like you are stating...

decided to go with -3 HP SS flex line, and i actually saved $$...those fittings are $$$....hope i dont regret that....lol....

well, I have more problems than just that. I am trying to stop 49s, with a real low crawl ratio and a vacum booster. Stock mog calipers.

I am going to swap out the vacum booster for a Vanco hydroboost first and see how that does. if it still feels spongy, I will redo the soft lines...

make sure you use all steel tube nuts and sleeves. Do not use aluminum. You can use a bulkead union to secure the hard line section to the frame, ect and then connect flexible braided line to the hard lines.

I used a tube nut from discounthydraulichose.com that didn't require a sleeve.. leak free, steel, and cheap..

Just ran that to a -4 union.
