WTF???ARB Install.....

Why dont they tell you you need shorter ring gear bolts???Plus I put it all together and I cant adjust it far enough to the pasengers side to have anything less than 1/4 inch backlash???the passengers adjuster is bottomed out!!!!

Heres what I have....14 bolt,4.56 factory gears...installing rd114

Am I missing parts???I followed the instructions... and read billavista's article on it...

it acts like it needs a ring gear spacer...or a thick ring gear???Anyone run into this???

yea mang, i think you need either the 4.10 and down carrier or a 4.56 "thick" gear, from what i have gathered.

i have some 4.56's and the carrier if your interested. i also have some out of the 14 bolt in the cruiser, but havent popped the cover to see whats in there (i bought 5.13's).

You can't use factory 4.56 ring gears on that carrier.

4.10 and down use a different carrier, but 99% of aftermarket gears for a 14FF are 'thick' cut past 4.56.

Yeah the original carrier is thicker where the bolts pass through(the reason I needed shorter bolts....)

Ill see if summit has gears...what a pain in the ass!!!!I wish I would have known.....I just didnt think 14 bolts had a carrier break like a dana axle.....

So I cant use 4.56 at all???Or I just need aftermarket gears???I really am not looking forward to re gearing this...and I probably wont if I have to change the front 60 gears.
