Frank, beat95yj, in Hospital, help him out guys.

Many of you know Frank Alioto, Frank the Tank, Beat95YJ here on the board. He's usually on a ton of different boards, posting about various wheeling stuff and trying to help everyone he can. (and harassing those that needs some harassment). Well Frank needs our help. This past weekend Frank was in Mexico getting married. He and his new bride Kristen and a bunch of their family and friends were having a grand old time at the reception when tragedy struck. Frank broke his neck while diving in a swimming pool. Yes the very same day he got married. He was air lifted back to a hospital in San Diego, and is going in for surgery on his neck in the next hour or two. Frank is one of my best friends, he's a smart engineer, a great guy, and has been there for me a bunch of times. He's a true champion and all around nice guy. I'm not sure what you're into, but do me a favor, cross your fingers, say a prayer, burn some incense, pour some malt liquor in the dirt, sacrifice a goat, do whatever you think will work, just help me wish Frank a strong recovery. This is the type of thing that will help him get through it. Frank is sitting in a hospital and his new wife is there beside him. She'll most likely be reading all the posts to him so post up. I need your help guys, Frank is my friend and I want to go wheeling with him again soon.

That sounds like a real serious situation--I pray he will be OK. Does broken neck mean paralyzed, or will he recover?? Other than well-wishes what can we do? Will he be OK financially or is there something we can do on that end?

Good luck, Frank and Kristen.

I cant say how much my heart hurts. Ill never get the image of his face out of my head as he was turned over in the water.

I have seen everyone here pull together in times of crisis and Frank needs us now more than ever. He and KT are the best friends, people I have ever met in my life.

He will be having surgery here soon. Lift him up- hes going back at 5:30, surgery at six.

Go Tank Go!

right now he just needs thoughts, not sure about all your questions. I'm sure it's serious, but only time will tell as far as how rough it's gonna be. I can tell you this, I'll be wheeling with frank again, even if i have to duct tape him in the seat and feed him manifold burritos through a straw.

Anyone that can put up with Camo and Lance is one tough SOB in my book.

Doctors said I`d never walk again also. What the hell do they know ?

We're down in San Diego and anyone visiting Frank that needs to overnight somewhere, we'll be glad to make a bed for you.

Frank is an asset to our sport personally and career-wise. He has done a ton for many people on this very board and although it's always tough to hear about people getting hurt or sick, this one hits a lil closer to the heart for us.

Let us know if there is anything we can do!

Frank lives nearby and I know that we have attended some of the same events but I never had the pleasure of meeting him.

Hope you make a full recovery and I'll see you out there on the trails sometime!

He is at Scripps, but there are a number of Scripps in San Diego. We're going to find out if it's Balboa or not, which we suspect it is knowing the quality of their sport's injury severe trauma program. Also, it could be Scripps Green in La Jolla, which has some of the best spine docs...
