Price and availability? I was actually going to call tomorrow and order the new 4140 joints but your site says they are backordered.

I'm sure that down the road we'll do something, but at this point this is what we're working on producing. We do however have a 3.0" forged joint with a 3/4" bolt that will be MASSIVE, scheduled for release in 4 weeks.

What size did you need? We still have a few that aren't spoken for, and truthfully our backorder will likely only be until the end of this month.

Nothing on availablility or price at this time, every last one that we have made has been purchased by the US Army, and we still have quite a long way to catch up with them.

2.625", a direct bolt-in replacement for a 1.25" rod end with 9/16" or 5/8" spacers.

Thanks for the nice words, we're working on getting the Ballistic joints back in stock, then we'll hit these hard.

I realize these are rediculously strong, but would it be feasible to have the set screw and the grease zerk on opposite sides from each other so as not to seriously create a big weak spot where the two are currently?

Wow those are very nice, to go along with the above whats the purpose of the set screw, just to lock the ring in place? Why is the ring needed as to adjust it you would only be able to do it in 1/4 turns? Seems like a snap ring would be a better method of retaining the ball and bushing?

Spanner will eliminate the need to rebuild the joint as frequently. 1/4 turns are made quite easily.

The final versions have the set screw and zerk holes staggered as well as on the thicker portion of the body. Good observation!

Here's the story behind these joints... Our customer called us on Thursday and said that the forged Ballistic Joints would no longer work because they want to put bends into the links and the current version binds under full flex. So.. they need an alternative. One catch, they need them engineered, machined, heat treated and on their door step 2,000 miles away by Tuesday morning. Let's just say that over-nighting four 20 ft lengths of 3.0" 4340 pre-treat steel on a plane is not cheap! We made the deadline and we're now completely tooled for production. They paid ALOT for these joints, but we think that we can make them much more affordable to the masses than our competitors.
