can anyone confirm that this is a 80 as just looking at the few pics the seller has it looks more like a 70 from the casting and the diff cover. does have 80 stamped in to the web though, and its from 80s chevy truck

Looks like a D70 to me as well, looks like the part number is still intact on the cover if you can get him to give that to you then you can cross it.

That is not a Dana 80 and it is not out of a Chevy truck. Does not have GM style hubs or brakes.

The only "Chevy" D60 rear that could be is a pre-73. These use hubs and Bendix brakes more like Ford and Dodge. Perch spacing is a good identifier of what it came from.

Diff cover on the 80 is taller. All have 4" axle tubes AFAIK. Any 8x6.5" version will have a speed sensor on the pumpkin.

Have a D80 from what I think was a 1999 F350.

Looking for 01/02 Dodge hubs for such an axle that have 8 on 6.5 and a hub diameter that can be turned down to emulate a 1991 chevy DRW hub.

Like what is shown here.
