Did you disassemble the 09 axle and/or cut the inner C's off yet?

I cant be the only one lost but other than the knuckle/steering, what is the benifit of any of this?

Reid makes f250/350 size ball joint knuckles now (in addition to the Super Kingpin knuckles & Cs which are essentially 05+ F250/350 size but use old 60 kingpin parts)

Exactly. The only thing was Reid doesnt make an inner C for the balljoint knuckle. No one did until Spicer released their Ultimate 60 builder parts. Now you have two cheaper options on building a custom axle to take 1550. Reid Superduty knuckles or the Spicer Ultimate 60 outer kit. The Superduty is obviously the cheapest.

Im building an axle with the pumpkin in a more desirable location. With theses parts, someone could build a passenger drop Superduty axle or a Fab9 or 14 bolt with 1550 joints. It just adds options to people.

A Junkyard local-ish to me sells 05+ outer knuckles with unit bearings on them for $100 a side. Add these knuckles and I can build a 609 without having to drag a whole housing home, cut the inner C's off, have them machined then throw out the rest of the axle.

Yeah, for real, U60 inner Cs & steering knuckles are reasonably priced but their wheel end kits seem to be really expensive, though.

I'm mainly excited by the ultimate shafts: 1550, 4340 and they offset the diff in further (best I can tell). But, yeah, they are set up for the "live spindle" wheel end kit, which I'm not sure is worth it or not. Might just run the inners, shorten the long side tube, retube the short side, and throw on OEM stubs to just use the stock unit bearings. Or at least that was my daydream intention... I'm wanting to run SD60s in a CJ8 and every inch of diff offset I can get will help immensely, especially with off the shelf parts.

Ultimate 60s have a pinion offset of about 8” from center of axle

Yes, I did. Also very helpful. I'm not sure how I missed all these builder axle program things. I had previously been trying to communicate with Dynatrac on sourcing the JKU60 inner axles and inquiring about the "live" hub conversion as I thought it was proprietary to them, but their sales department wasn't much help. Didn't realize until now that it was available through Dana. Awesome news to me either way.

Who's got the best deal on the big hub seals inside the knuckles?

I am the only one (as far as I know), producing a ballpoint delete kit for the 99-04 Ford SD axles. Been doing it for over a year and have quite a few kits out there beating them. Zero failures thus far. Just sent out a DIY kit last week. My kit works best with the JHF hi-steer kits.

Sorry, for clarification, NO I did not read your post or links when you first posted them, but I'm catching up on the thread now. Lots of awesome info I somehow missed in my brief PBB hiatus. The Dodge brake bit was handy too, so thanks for that! Just wish the 8x6.5 stuff wasn't super high, like you alluded to...

I just setup a set of those Nitro 10 gears last weekend. Really dont know why theyd go with a crush sleeve.

The 4:56 set was also not a 32/7 tooth count like listed on their website. Normal 41/9.

If someone needs an F550 inner shaft with 1550 joints to narrow for any custom width housing requiring a shaft 37.875” or shorter, part #EC3Z-3219-D. My Spicer F350 long shaft came in and I realized that it necked down to 1.450” after the splines for about 1.5” before going back to 1.590” diameter. So I cancelled the second one and ordered a ‘15 F550 shaft since they start out at 41.375” long. The F350 shaft is 38.93” long, but is only 35” long before necking down. The F550 shaft is 37.875” before necking down.

Seems like you should still be able to get a very wide axle with a 35" blank? How wide are you trying to get?

Dynatrac. Expensive, but strong and rebuildable

I had good life from ACDelco Professional ball joints.

I’m retaining the 05+ Superduty width. I’m just moving the pumpkin over. So instead of a 38.93” long shaft and 16.69” short, my housing takes a 36.6” and a 19”.
