I just moved

Hey I just moved to Pinehurst North Carolina, over by Raleigh, and was wondering what's out here? I'm just looking for some trails and clubs and stuff. So give me the hookup.

Well Welcome to the area.

Sorry to tell you but there really is not much that is close by that is challenging.

The closet legal trail system is Uwharrie National Forest

but there is not tha much that is diffucult.
but it is fun to test out new mods and just mess around on the weekend.

And then Tellico

Here are a few Clubs to check out:
CNC 4x4 CLub

Carolina Trailblazers

C.O.R.E

Hope this helps.

Hey man...welcome to the state.. If you need help decoding the language, we can do that, too.. Oh wait, you're in "Pinehuuurrst" They don't speak like the rest of the state.. *cough* lotsa snobs *cough*

Bruiser posted some good links, I'm a Trailblazer member, and we do some great trails, but most of them ARE a drive, as the good stuff is on the border of TN or just inside TN. Uwharrie isn't a challenge, EXCEPT in the rain.. Gets slicker than dog snot when it's wet. But it's close, and a decent place to go test some mods before you hit anything really hard.

Tellico is good, but it's a mile of crap before you get to a 300 yard rock, then another mile of crap.. But there's LOTS more in that area, which far exceeds Tellico for fun factor... Trailblazers know what I'm talking about..

Also, a raleigh guy has started an easy mailing list for triangle guys, http://raleigh.4x4.org/ It's not a club, just a list to swap ideas, and keep in touch, plan rides, and swap parts.

The Army dropped me here in '97, and when I got out in '99, I liked it enough to stay.. There's lots to love about NC if you stay out of Fayetteville!
