Vinegar to remove rust??

This was posted over on Fullsizebronco.com & I thought Id post here to see what you all think about it...

Never seen the vinegar before. I'm gonna have to try it.

I've done the electrolysis, that worked damn well until my sacrifical nodes were covered in rust They couldn't take anymore off my rusty parts

That seems to work really well from the pictures. I have used this stuff called Evapo rust http://www.evapo-rust.com/ This stuff works. Just plain works. It's not the cheapest stuff, but it is totally effective. I would like to give the malt vinegar a try, it has to be WAY cheaper. I wonder if you could buy the vinegar in large containers (i.e. 5 gallons)?

it works pretty good, we use to use it on out surface grinders that ran water based collant

Yup. Used it before, just don't really keep vinegar on hand.


Same thing as using Coke(the brand name soft drink) to remove corrosion on wiring, metal, etc.
