You guys should seriously consider adding window nets. You can fuck up your arm/hand/wrist very easily in a rollover.

The hazing is due to not posting in the appropriate thread. So because they're in college they get a pass for not reading the rules or pay enough attention to the fucking pinned thread at the top of this forum? They are engineering students, they should be smarter than that.

I do agree it would be cool to help them out, but call them out on dumbass moves like anyone else. Fair treatment and all that everyone bitches about.

Ayup, and all that hazing has changed exactly what? Driving away potential contributors. (Refering to good content, not money. I couldn't give a shit less about canada)

We need every ally for land use we can get. I would expect Mr. Blue Star to understand that. Young people at college influence other young people at college.

This. There's quite a few members who are worried about nothing more than being billy e-badass all the time and not contributing much if anything positive to the site.

I'll be the first to say we should hear them out and give them a chance, they seem to be a bonafide .edu and it would be cool to help them out!
Now nobody has to agree with CG :blackfo2:

exactly.

and if we could get a university behind us in the fight to keep public lands open that could add a huge amount of support both in numbers of people and dollar amounts.

There's a bunch of idiots in this thread who are too worried about flaming the newbie to realize the benefit we could gain by actually welcoming them.

These guys don't seem to be just another retard who wants "big tars" and baddest assed truck out there.

Yup.. There's a difference between some pretty on-the-ball college kids showing up with tech and looking for feedback and the normal mouth-breather who wants to know how big of tires he can fit on his Yota or TJ without a lift.

Welcome guys. There are a lot of ex-Sae baja guys on this board. I ran with the SDM&T program for quite a few years.

Wrist restraints were mandatory when we raced ours.

Welcome to Pirate

I built SAE Baja and Formula SAE cars from 99-2004. A LOT has changed since then but the experience I got in that shop is something I will always respect and enjoy.

Don't get too wrapped up in the project, keep up with your schoolwork and HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

You'll be amazed with the resources the school will give you. We used to load the school vans and Suburbans down with beer and head to the local dirt or asphalt track on the weekends as "Team Building Events" All expenses paid.

I feel like i missed a bunch of flaming or angry posts based on all the responses like the above

If they stick around and add tech, it would be cool.

Thanks for the correction, guys.

OP, think about running your wrist restraints when practicing. As many KOH cars have been wadded up in practice as in racing.

(and if you're not running hard in practice, it's not good practice!!)

Your car looks very capablle.
