Just got the big gun for my T-44. Big gun, quick little medium. Holy shit it's fun to haul ass around the map and shoot up big bad tier 9's and 10's for 300 plus hits with a tier 8 medium. I've got a camo trained crew and equipped it with the camo net so sometimes I just sit behind a bush and wait for some slow moving heavy to waddle by, pop out and start shooting them in the ass. Working on the first mark for it. Shouldn't take long lol.

The 122mm on the T-44 is a really bad idea. It is so much worse then the 100mm LB1. Do yourself(and the team) and mount the LB1 and not be a liability. Seriously tier 5s have better damage per minute then the T-44 with the 122.

I use them both. I have more fun and do better with the 122.

Put my push with the T28 for the T95 on hold temporarily.
Still need about 105k xp.
Started on the Soviet SU line to try something different.
Got the MS1, quickly traded up to the AT2, then again to the SU76, and just now to the SU85B.
Fun line of TD's, nice to try something different.

The T95 is my goal.
It's just grinding the T28 makes me want to smash my phone sometimes.
I'll get a good battle, kill a tank or maybe 2, then I'll get a group of shitty battles where I get my ass kicked because other guys will motor away and leave me and I'm trying to fight off 5 goddamn tanks from 3 directions and I get a mudhole stomped in my ass.
Then I end up pissed off because I'm hemmoraging silver coins.
Then I'll say fuck it and play a Tier 5 tank for a bit or something while I calm down.

Started my grind up the Russian heavy line this weekend. I have the KV-2 now...

OMG I love this thing! it has to be one of the most fun tanks in the game to play. Talk about a glass canon, can't take much in hits...but that 152mm.

Point, shoot, laugh as they rage from one hit kill.

I've noticed once you get past Tier 6, the repair costs get pricey=don't make much money (especially if you lose/die).
If you don't have a premium account, you are losing silver on most every game above T6 at my skill level. I am sure others can make it work, but I can't. With my winrate and damage levels, my fv304 is about the only decent money maker I own.

I really should pick up a premium tank for making the money I need.

They really aren't that bad. They just buffed the T28 so that helps some. Those two TDs require you to pick a direction at the start of the map and commit. They are the epitome of a non flex tank. That said, map design over the last year or two has actually helped these two slow behemoths in having more corridor type maps , instead of being wide open.

The true with these tanks are you will be on the front line of the action or see no action at all.

I did enjoy playing my T95, I think I had close to 500 matches in it.

this. its like 7 bucks or something. i have t14 and churchill III and ramII. when i need cash, i play these aggressively. either die quick or be the hero and then jump to the other tank. i can make a million silver really quick. the churchill iii is my fav. because with the favorable mm, half the time you are top tier and when you are, just push and dont stop. you will get spotting points and with the rof, you will get a ton of kills. most tanks in t4 and t5 can't pen you easliy. its a blast to play with.

Another week in the Comet and I find that I am having fun but am sucking pretty badly. I seem to be near low tier non-stop and though I do a bit of damage and spotting like a fast medium should, I just never seem to get the chance to offer good flank support. I guess I am just not good enough for this tank. I will continue to play to try to improve, but think I will focus elsewhere for a few weeks.

I think I am heading back to my frontloader Russian TD's like SU85 and SU100. to try and learn them better. That was my first line of tanks and I played too far forward early in the games. I played a bunch of hit and run like an e25 would...but they are not e25's, so I suffered.

The key to big slower TD, is location location location. Don't get out front, let the tanks do that. Hang back, find a spot where you have 2-3 bushes and trees covering you. Remember to stay back from the bush about 2-3 yards don't be right up on it or in it.

Equipment to have:
Gun Rammer (if available)
Vents (if available)
Periscope optics
Camo net (if one of the above is not available)

Crew skills (in order listed) *anything with a number 2 after it, is if you have a second of that crew*

Commander: Six Sense & jack of all trades & Recon
Driver: Clutch turning & Off road driving & camo
Gunner (1): Camo & Deadeye & repair
Gunner (2?): Camo & Repair & Armorer
Loader (1): Camo & Adrenaline Rush & Repair
Radioman: Camo & Firefighting & Situational Awareness

That above combo pretty much makes a TD invisible, quick as possible to turn and fast on the reload as possible.

This isn't bad advice.
I'd recommend BIA first though.
6th sense rocks.

Maps & teammates have a lot to do with doing well as a TD.
I recommend joining a clan/doing strongholds.
TD armor is 1-3 levels below the tier, while gun is 1-3 levels above.

I had my best game to date a few days ago.

Going BIA first actually isn't a very good idea. The entire time you are grinding that crew skill it is having no effect at all. The first skill or two, I always pick actual skills(like repair/camo) instead of perks(BIA, safe stowage). After I would finish up my 2nd skill, I respect the crew I to the perks I wanted. This way you always have a benefit from your skills while grinding.

This does require some gold to do, but it makes the grinds much more manageable.

Edit - Skills effectiveness scale based on the % of your crew level. Perks only kick in and work when it gets to 100%
