I don't understand the hate for those clamps. They are super easy to remove with needle nose or even easier with vice grips if you can fit them.

Yep, I never had an issue with them. They even make specific pliers for them if you need. But we've never had the need. A set of angled long handled needle nose is all that's required.

I like em too, and actually prefer them to the other style.

They work great when they work. They suck when they don’t. Problem is when they don’t open far enough to get over a hose or open enough to slide back on a hose. Other biggest issue is when they shoot out of your pliers and off into never never land and never to be seen again.

This. They are fucking great until they use them in a spot that requires me to pull a fucking intake or alternator off or put them in an orientation I cant get needle nose on. When if they just used a normal hose clamp I could get it easypeasy and not have to R&R unrelated shit. I actually had a buddy on mine raid his box to see if he has another pair he could part with of those special pliers. He found an old pair of them he will give me. Just need to drive my ass back up north to get it. Might wait till I drive my rig up there to put the suspension on. After using a lift to work on rigs I got real fucking lazy if I have to fix it in my gravel driveway in a rain storm.

I have one or two tape measures in that land of never to be seen again. As well as some fucking broken tools.
We had one job where if you dropped a tool it was fucking gone period. We actually went out and bought a few disposable tools for that gig after my buddy lost his stiletto.

I worked with some commercial divers, who make like $100/hr. Took me a minute to figure out why they were using dollar store tape measures and crescent wrenches
