Well you're about the same size as I was and I'm 164-165 (I run about 40 miles a week) now. Cut the fast food and gas station stops and pack a lunch. If it's fast food that's a problem it won't be if you have a sandwich. It's not like Scotts Valley to Monterey is a hard area to find a sandwich.

EDIT: Healthy fats are more filling than protein but they become a problem when carbs are high. Avocado, pistachios, almonds, and walnuts are all full of fat (Think LDL Cholesterol boosting) and can help lose weight because you're more full. 100 calories from these will fill you up more than "empty calories" like a 100 calorie donut. Vegetables, Fruits, fish and meat should be some of the first things eaten in a meal. It's pretty bad when you start reading labels and find out how much of the "healthy" alternatives have the same crap in them most people are trying to avoid eating. Sucorse (or anythign ending in -ose), Corn Syrup, Brown Rice Sugar, and most sugars ending in -ol (Mannitol, Xylitol, etc.) are seriously added to so many things you'll want to kill yourself after reading food labels and slap people who buy the stuff without looking at it thinking they're eating healthy.

The OFFICIAL 2016 fatass no-more thread

Ok

Joining to be accountable.

49 (50 in March)
6'2"
Was just shy of 95 kgs 210lbs on the scale last week. Left school at 75 kgs and was at that weight when I built our house 20 years ago

Realistic goal would be 80-85 kgs

My kryptonite is beer. Easily drink 12-18 a week often 24 plus. And a total lack of exercise.

No solid plan but will attempt moderation with what I put in my face and will drag my ass outside for some exercise at least 3 times a week

@rugger

Are you willing to do a status update in the first post like we did last year?

Like a check in with people's weekly progress?

I better get started if I am. It's already a bit out of control.

I will do it.

In again. Me and the Mrs actually just started 21 day fix Monday. We both got new jobs last year and have a much more sedentary lifestyle now so I'm more out of shape than I've ever been.

24
255 (as of Monday)
Goal is 210

I know I wont hit that with 21 day fix but I plan to eat right and exercise after the program, its basically just a starting point.

I can post up meal info if people want based on my 21 day fix diet.

I'm in again.

38yrs old
5' 9.5"
219 this morning
Goal is 195

I did it last year, and while I didn't make my goal I did lose about 15lbs or so, but was more "evenly distributed" among fat/muscle sine I lifted and packed on some muscle mass....then the last few months, bought a new house with the gf and did a big remodel...which ended up being eating fast food a lot more then normal, and less mornings at the gym...luckily between that and the holidays I still only packed on 6-8lbs of what I'd lost...but still not where I want to be.

I'm just getting back into the morning gym routine after moving and holidays and everything..made it both mornings this week so far. I'm hoping I can continue at least 3x a week like I did most of last year.

I am in again...

41 years old
6ft
200.2 this morning
Was 235 at the start of 2015
Was down to 196 aug-sept 2015
Goal is 180

Made a bunch of changes in 2015...quit smoking, really really cut back on drinking, started riding my mtn bike again, got a road bike to help with the fitness, didn't eat a single meal from mcdonalds, etc.

The plan for 2016 is to stick to a healthy diet and ride my bike as much as possible!

Being part of the 2015 thread really helped me...I couldn't eat a bunch of junk because I didn't want to report a gain to my pirate e-friends.

BTW...my weight loss in 2015 made me buy all new pants...went from 38s being tight to 34s slightly loose!

Guess I'm in
36 6'1" 230lbs
It looks like I've been creeping up for 15 years, last november I went on the scale to read 230 and thought shit that's a lot and I'm not nice to my knees which have happened to cause problems in the past.
Anyway I don't have a weight goal but I decided I'd eat like a pig less often and start exercising to get back in shape.
So I just completed c25k which quickly turned into c210k, since I wasn't starting as a couch potato anyway. Net weight loss for the 8-week period : zero. Cardio seems to have improved a good bit though.
Right now I'm looking for a new training, or should I say exercising plan for increasing my calories burn and keep building cardio without hurting myself. My weak spots are my left hip, and achilles so I need to be conservative. I'm not concerned about the weight figure as much as the bigger picture which is improving fitness and health.

But 185 at the end of the year would be nice.

Thanks for your time

I think I've entered one of these before.....

I'm at 6'5" 260 as of this morning. My nickname was changed to Big Mike, that's not good!

When I work out (swimming) I hover around 250 eating and drinking what I want. My goal has always been 225 but realistically I should be around 205. All of my weight seems to have been contained to my upper body, like my belt prevents it from going any lower.

I'm in. 260 lbs 1-21-2016.

I can't really participate since i'm 6'1" 184 lbs but I'd like to recommend the Pro-Fish Diet to those who are looking to drop the fat.

It's one of the easiest diets to follow. Go straight to the produce and seafood departments when you go shopping and then checkout. Go no where else in the store.

Fish, fruits, veggies, and nuts.

Eggs can but used but avoid most of the yolks.

This is how I keep my frame from ballooning:

Breakfast: 4 eggs, oatmeal with berries
Mid Meal: 2 apples, a banana, some nuts
Lunch: Salad and fruit
Mid Meal: 2 apples, a banana, some nuts
Dinner: Fish, veggies

Sometimes I eat a couple more apples before bed and now and then I'll blend up a bunch of fruits/veggies in the vitamix and drink that for mid meals.

The mid meals are critical to success because the main meals are low in calories and the mids keep the hunger at bay until the next meal.

Sounds like a standard paleo diet but with only fish. Check out the paleo stuff...its easy to follow and still allows a guy to eat delicious stuff!

Sorry, but I'd rather be fat than eat like that every single day. No thanks

Failed miserably last year, but I'll try again this year.

I'm 5'9" on a good day and weighed in this morning at the VA at 284. It's by far the heaviest I've ever been. I feel like crap most days and most of my clothes from last year don't fit. Good news, if you can call it that, is that I've been diagnosed with depression and anxiety, so I'm hoping I can get my mind right and get motivated. This is really becoming a vicious cycle.

Help yourself.

I'm just preventing the nasty outcome of high BP, heart conditions, and all that crap. I seen too many people go through it and it's awful.

Looks to be around 100g of sugar or so. I'm no dietician so I can't comment past that.

Not to mention the extremely calorie dense nuts.

Sounds like a good way to gain weight.
