Getting out of the welding game. Taking a week off. Giving my current place 2 weeks notice when I get back and expect to be asked to leave same day(pretty much SOP for them)

She just wants to sell the lot it was on.
We got to take down a similar sized one, but it was behind a guy's house (he ran a delivery company and used it to radio drivers), and the legs were oriented in a way that would dump it on his neighbor's house or his garage if we tried it that way. Ended up finding a (rather tight) path we could lay it down on, I went back to the shop and fabricated a big piano hinge out of angle iron and sleeved pipe, and we welded and braced it to two legs facing the proper direction.

Since it was behind the guy's house we couldn't get a winch to it easily...ended up climbing up the two-story roof and tying off a snatch block to the chimney. Cut all 3 legs and laid it down with no problems.

A little improvisational and sketchy, but got 'er done

Burned out. Itís not fun anymore. The place Iím at needs more GOOD welders and fitters but anyone worth a fuck is already working and probably in the union(all piping/welding contractors in refineries around here are union))
Been doing it since 2004. Nowhere to go paywise where I work now. I tried to get out into the field but that just turned into a clusterfuck that cost me $$ and got nowhere.
New opportunity came up about 6 months months ago at a place a friend works. One guy was going to be leaving for CHP academy but didnít have a date at the time. Job got listed a few weeks ago and I applied. Interview at one shop of the company(3 shops, 2 positions up for grabs) on 7/3. Next one was Wednesday this week. Signed the job offer today. MIGHT do some welding when needed but itís something new, interesting, seems to have advancement opportunities and annual raises.

Don't wave at anyone other than another FSJer. Nobody knows what the fuck that thing is, or the horror that is owning one, other than other FSJ guys.

FSJNetwork and IFSJA are the forums for them.

Welcome to the club of owning some obsolete oddball and poorly built shit you can't get parts for.

I'm assuming the horrible power steering box causing hydro surges and a bad vacuum pump bearing allowing it to deflect and let it get all fucky

Had to call in to work today. Cant remember the last time that happened. Something in my lower back gave up yesterday and I dropped to the floor. Was hoping I'd feel better today, woke up and went to go outside for a coffee, ended up almost blacking out and in a pile on the floor at the back door. Of course I cant find anyone that can get me in today to try and unfuck this mess.

Damn, I hurt for you Dude. Been there played that game myself!

Pain Med up and get some sleep on a hard floor. The only way it would go away for me.
If I kept pushing it it would hurt for a frigging month.

Knock yourself out! Turn off the phone too!

Finally found a place 45 minutes away that could see a new patient today, at 530. Bayer didnt do shit and the leftover tylenol 3 I had arent really taking the edge off. Got an icy hot patch under a back brace. Keeps things immobile, but its pushing my spine the wrong (right) way.

I feel like shit for missing work. I'm one of 4 people they send to departments that are behind or missing people. I dont have any idea what I'd be able to do, but damn if I dont feel like shit for not dragging my crippled self in and suffering through.

find a dr that will give you these, they actually work and help nerve pain.

I went to a chiropractor today to see if theres anything they can do to get me adjusted. I cant walk for shit and my spine is locked in a 15 degree bend to the left. It fucking sucks dude. Ive now been off work for 10 months and I don't see myself going back anytime soon. I was forced to work on my dodge yesterday so I can get my fucking truck fixed and that absolutley wrecked me. took me 6 hours to pull the timing cover because I can only work for 10-15 minutes at a time.

Worst day of the year so far....

Had a truck break down, a guy call in sick and while dealing with both of those issues, my called just called and told me my grandpa (her dad) died. It was unexpected. So family is in shock.

How's everyone else's monday going?

@Rooster831 that sounds brutal. I'm irritated after one day, I think I'd go nuts after that long. Hopefully they can get you straightened out.

So the hotel I am at in Germany is very nice. However there is no fridge, and apparently ice is a no go here.

But I am smart.

Luckily the beer is good and does not have to be ice cold.

Probably not the same strength but you get Lidocane patches over the counter.

I can't decide either. I went in thinking I was going to be a badass and go get me a liter sportbike right off the bat, after cruising around a few laps on a CBR 300 during the class I'm going to pass. Looking at midsize cruiser/naked bike. I want to get out there and progress before too much time passes. Heal up and get to riding

The toilet tank if equipped makes a awesome cooler in the room.

Whatever is wrong with my spine disks is apparently messing with my nerves. Chiropractor did a reflex test and my right leg didn't move at all, theres spots where she could touch it that I dont feel, and theres not much strength in it. Went in to work with my list of restrictions and promptly got sent home today. On top of it all, a storm came through last night and made a mess of my yard. Going to have to wait on cleaning that up.

Some guy wants me to haul off 3 dead vehicles, just called 1 scrapyard I've taken them to before, 5 bucks a ton. Looks like his vehicles aren't getting hauled off by me.
