How about the fact that Cruz condemned Obamas stimulus plan in 2011 and claimed they wouldn't help the economy and its not how you create jobs, but in 2009, he represented a teachers union, arguing that a 1 time stimulus would help the economy and stimulate jobs

Or, the case where he helped defeat the whistleblower that was suing a pharmaceuticals company? (This one says the most about his ethics, feel free to look it up)

Then there's the issue "tort reform" from 2003 Cruz strongly supported . Which limits how much you can sue a company or business for in the event of injury or death. This places a $750,000 cap on how much you could sue for.
But in 2009 and 2011, he was brought in on 2 lawsuits and sided with the plaintiffs that they each deserved over $50million in damages.

Now I would like to point out that he was compensated a significant amount for each of these cases. Kinda looks to me like he's willing to change his views for a big enough paycheck, but I'm sure "his followers are willing to overlook such a minute detail"

Do you think defense attorneys who argue that a clear cut criminal is innocent are criminals themselves? They are simply doing the job they were hired for.

Quite frankly I'd be more concerned if he did the above things pro bono

So let me get this straight, it's ok to be a liar if you're paid? You can throw ethics out the window because "it's his job"?

You both are making my point Cruz will drop his ethics for a paycheck. We all know that the least trusted people on this planet are lawyers and they're paid to win at any cost. It takes a person with very low ethics and good lying skills to be successful as a lawyer.

Cruz was very successful.

The issue of whether a candidate supports the Constitution should be a given. It's a requisite to run for or hold public office. It has devolved into an option, and that is very sad and very wrong.
What is sad is that we have to worry about Supreme Court Justices. Those confirmations should be a snap. You would think for someone who's whole job is basically to follow the constitution, anyone nominated would have a proven track record of doing such, yet that simply isn't the case.

Go do some research, and find out that there's a long precedent for this, specifically by the very people whining about it now, and more specifically, by your president.

Now go smack yourself in the face with a truck.

I see your point. I should have read more closely. My bad.

But you should still go smack yourself in the face with a truck. Just for our entertainment.

True, they're supposed to follow the constitution, but the constitution means different things to different people. Whether you like it or not the wording of much of the constitution is far for cut & dried. It CAN be interpreted in different ways. All you have to do is read this forum to see the truth in that.

There's one correct interpretation - the one the founders intended. There's lots of ways to twist it apparently though.

Saying something means something other than what you know the author to have intended is not correct, no matter what piece of writing you're talking about. Sing, dance, piss and moan all you like, but you always have been and always will be wrong.

Exactly. There are plenty of writings by the founders aside from the constitution that makes their intent even clearer.

The Constitution and Bill of rights was written by 18th century minds...slavery, women and non Anglo whites were second class citizens was the thinking of the day for many men...
I suppose it depends on if you think the Constitution is set in stone or it can adjust with the changes in society......Like the various amendments added since it was written...

Yup. It took MONTHS and much argument to reach the compromises of our constitution.
