Didn't know the murderer but hung out in his parent's pool in the hot summer with my 2 year younger sister. I was about 12 at the time. This was mid 80's so he was locked up already but we were new to the neighborhood and the realtor must have left that part out. Turned out the house across the street and 4 houses down were William Bonin's parents (The Freeway Killer)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Bonin

The day of his execution in 1996 the parents had ordered Dominos pizza, their son's last meal request. The neighborhood usually full of kids on bikes and playing (when kids actually went outside and played) was silent as the driver delivered the food and left. I remember it vividly.

A friend and former co-worker of mine killed his wife. From what I understand, she was very physically abusive to him but he wouldn't retaliate, always maintained his cool, and never once complained about it (nobody knew it was happening until after the fact) and was always a very laid-back mellow dude. I guess he finally snapped one day after she assaulted him with a 2x4. He went and grabbed his shotgun, walked up behind her and blew her head off. He then called the police and reported what he had done, then waited for them to come arrest him and went peacefully with the officers. After a couple of weeks in holding, before his trial even started, he hung himself in his jail cell. Its just too bad it had to happen because he really was a pretty good guy.

I pulled up in front of a bar one night after work right as a HS buddy of mine killed a guy sort of on accident I guess you could say. Knocked the guy out with a haymaker and he fell head first onto the curb and broke his neck and died instantly.

My cousin beat a guy to death with a baseball bat.

I have a few other family members and buddies with blood on their hands but no convictions. Grew up around motorcycle clubs in the 80's and early 90's.

Yeah.
Jennifer Knarr shoots dead her husband Joseph and son before killing herself | Daily Mail Online

I knew her and her ex-husband very well.
Ran into her ex this past weekend. It was a real mindfuck for him.

And I know two guys who served time for vehicular homicide. Not murder...but still homicides.

On topic, I've never known anyone that committed murder, but vehicular homicide, yes. A friend from high school was hammered and wrapped her car around a tree, killing three boys, all of whom I knew. She served about 3 years.

One of the guys in my MP Squad that I had went to school with and patrolled with a good bit murdered his pregnant GF to avoid child support. I had to testify against him at the trial because the dumbass used his duty weapon and I filled out the report on a missing round the night it happened. Gut feeling told me that that round had not simply fallen out of his mag, since that didn't happen very often at all. After finding the body, we all knew happened to it.

Fucked up part was he rode patrol with her in his trunk alive for several hours before finding an empty part of base to complete his task.

I actually have known several others but I knew him best and was part of the story so that's the one I told.

I've said many times. "Movie monsters don't scare me. Monsters like Gacey and Bundy terrify me". Fawkers that you have carried on conversations with everyday, you just never know....

That was kind of my motivation for starting this thread, I figured that if I knew a murderer, and I have lived a pretty clean life (as an adult anyway), then others must too.

I wonder how many people out there have this secret and never got caught? It's not like murder is a rare occurrence.

Yup, good buddy of mine in the military, his brother stabbed his gf. I knew him reasonably well, was a bit off but didn't seem that bad. He and some friends dismembered the body and didn't say anything for a few days. I think 5-6 people got charged with varying offenses. Also he was a self proclaimed Juggalo. Just read that a year after the murder he was also charged with sexual assault of a 14 yr old. He's away for 40 something to life I think.

I knew the shooter and victims of the Santana School Shooting and two guys who stabbed another classmate at a party in High School.

Crazy to look back at all the things that happened growing up.

Also know a guy who wrecked driving drunk. Not a huge accident but other guy cut his leg and bled out. Didn't even test him for Drinking.

I also worked with this guy for a while when I was a volunteer EMT. He always seemed a little off, but I never thought he would kill 4 people.

That's weird. I figure there are a lot more people wanting to kill tow truck drivers than the other way around.

I live on an orchard in Sutter County, so there's probably some bodies around the property.

Oddly enough, the PD just found a GSW victim half buried in the orchard behind my house on Sunday night. Yaaaaayyyyy tweakers.

I grew up with this guy.... Played sports from around 8 years old until 8th grade when we ditched school together and stole a bottle of rum from the grocery store, got caught after an altercation with a teacher, and were both expeled from school. Part of the process was a court appearance and sentencing for stealing the rum. The judge said we could not be together without an adult present or we would do 30 days in juvenal hall. That shit show changed my life,..... his too. He was in trouble every day from then on. I've led a peerless life of exemplary behavior.

Then there is my biological father... He killed a father of 5 and did life for it. I hadn't seen him in about 6 years went he went up.

Damn.

Thanks for breaking the cycle.

My paternal grandfather raped my aunt and spent most of my dad's HS years in prison. Dad broke the cycle. It's not hard to not be a criminal...but it is hard to be a dad when you didn't have a good role model as a dad. As a dad myself, I realize how much I fall back on my own childhood experiences and the good things my dad did.

I've got an uncle that did 15-20 years, not sure if the charges were murder or manslaughter, he always claimed that he wasn't the trigger man but he was there and helped hide evidence at the very least.

Seriously. They go in the orchard to do drug deals. I'm pretty much in town, so it's not like it's "out of the way" for them.

Some shady shit going on here lately. I work the next County over and THAT is where all the bad is happening. We've had 3 pretty horrific murders in the last couple months.

On a brighter note, the apple yield should be terrific this season!
