Trump would have had to lie quite a bit less had he ran as a democrat.
Surely, he would think that he could beat a corrupt liar like Clinton, a socialist, and a governor that 1% of the population knew of. I just cannot image that anyone in his camp seriously thought that he could win the Republican nomination back in June, 2015.
I dont think trump ever made the case that he was the most conservative man on the stage. Your just pissed that he isn't. I think he aligns with many people in that he is fiscally conservative, more middle/liberal on social issues, and common sense on trade and immigration.
Thus he catches fire.
Whats so hard to understand?
Trump fiscally conservative? The man has spent much of his adult life up to his eyeballs in debt and now he's talking about defaulting on the federal debt.... Followed by saying that we can print money to avoid a default. I don't know how you run your home finances...
On his conservatism: Trump suggested nationalizing the banks in 2009, raising the minimum wage, a more progressive tax system, protectionism, single payer healthcare, has a complete disregard for the Constitution... I know card carrying democrats who are much more conservative than Trump.
People in this site blasted Obama for years for supporting many of these positions, as well as the moderate republicans the GOP keeps pushing, but now applaud Trump?
