They are neat. But I felt they are a novelty. Not cool enough to be a motorcycle. not big enough to be a car.

I drove one at a demo and just wasn't my thing.

Did I pass this death trap in Ripley this morning running behind a bunch of cruisers?

I doubt it. Since it isn't pirate approved, I'm sure he sold it and is looking for a Miata.

My 'older' friend has a slingshot and got a ticket in Huntington beach for not wearing a helmet. He's a mid life crisis 'compensator.' He does own a Harley fat boy and a victory full dresser, so does that get a pass? I think not. The victory kinda looks like the slingsot fucked the Harley and that was it's offspring.

That is perfect.

Longer in the nose, Jag pre-Marelli HE V-12, Tremec, XJ-S suspension front and rear because wider. Battery, radiator (maybe), fuel tank out back.

Donor Jag XJ-S: scrap value.

Rebuild suspension: $400 in parts.

AF frame: ???

The entire shooting match could come in under 5 large.

Plan B: A 302 SBC Chebby motor.

I find it extremely hard to believe that's 140 pounds.

This was I want to say 75-80 pounds with powdercoat & dacron/paint and I spent months trying to shave every last bit of weight out of it I could while following the rule book and meeting the suspension and engine design requirements (entire car weighed 450 pounds + driver)

Can you blame him?

I'd be pretty pissed too if someone drove by and saw me driving one of those things

That's a pretty cool setup, exomotive makes something similar for the miata drivetrain. Weight something like 1400 with miata drivetrain and 1700 with ls/t56.

Yeah, I'm not real crazy about the single year wheel either, but you don't see it from the driver's seat. There is a company in Florida that makes a bolt-in quad kit for the rear, but it's $10K. It's pretty slick looking though.

That kit car you posted looks pretty neat, but that's a lot of money, time, and effort even with a junkyard Focus engine.
