Sacramento- shop lease advice

Pirates

We are going to base part of our race team in Sacramento for a partial season in 2017

I have driven thru on the interstate a couple times and that is my limit of knowledge of the place

Need the following
Max 1 year lease. Would prefer March to Sept

Must be large enough to drive an 18 wheeler into and still be able to load and unload from rear tailgate lift. We plan on working out of the truck mostly not loading and unloading between events. Apart from the cars

Must allow us to install a 2 post lift

Secure enough we can lock the shop and leave it unattended for up to a month during the season as we are also running in Conti Tire series but will be based in TX for that series with totally separate equipment

Prepared to look in surrounding area. We race at Laguna twice thunder hill once Sonoma once and a couple races in UT before we make the trek out of CA for road America and COTA

Any realtors or husbands of realtors?
Any other advice?

Thanks

Look at Yuba City area (N. of Sac) too. Safer /cheaper and easier to get in and out of, good location for where you need to go.

not a bad idea. Y.C. has improved a lot over the last decade and has a lot of industrial area that is cheaper than sacramento. It's also about an hour closer to thunder hill

Any of the surrounding towns are going to be cheaper and in my opinion a safer place to store your stuff. Dont get me wrong, sacramento has its great parts but cost will proba ly price tou out of those areas.

Any reason not to consider Reno? Things are generally cheaper in NV.

Woodland has a TON of open warehouses right now too. About 15 min north of the Sacramento Airport.

thanks to all who posted, change of plans though.

When I actually sat and did the logistics earlier this week, we are "only" looking at a $25K difference in trucking costs if we base out of TX rather than CA for this series. It does add to my logistic headaches substantially having to plan longer periods of time on the road for the transporter, but it also eases my issues of having crew split on two sides of the country. And signing a lease and only using the shop 6 months, and moving a shop half way across the country twice in a season. So TX it is.

Current leading candidate for the shop is Austin TX.

thanks again for the advice, appreciate it.
