I know nothing about BMW's.
Was it ever offered in the states?
If not, start reading about 'Gray market cars'.
Depending on where you live, there are a lot of hoops to go.

That's a cool car. I saw a similar IX sedan go for $12k a few weeks back. A wagon could easily fetch more than $20k in coming years, I bet. The e30's are going through the roof.

For sure. The prices are already starting to climb. Clean e30s are going for over 10k all the time. They'll be the "man if id have bouhht them when they were cheap" car in the next decade.

Please keep this thread updated as I'm curious to know how smoothly it goes.

I've always wanted to import a 4 door rhd Toyota hilux. I keep tossing around the idea but the taxes, and epa bs are what scares me away from getting serious about it

NO, not to my knowledge. Every estate I've seen had a KPH gauge.

Use a known US based importer (pm me for info if you want it).. I imported a '83 Land Rover with zero issues, but CBP is cracking down. Seen trucks held at the port for months due to them needing to be steam cleaned, while other sail right thru. My 110 literally had a bushel of apples in the back...

As for anyone in the communist state of California, CARB and DMV don't follow the same rules for imports, they basically don't follow the 25 year rule. While some get vehicles thru, its a roll of the dice...

Apparently not. I assumed they were.

There's still a few running around up here.

save lots of money and buy one of those from canada.
as we can buy 15 yr old ones, everyone in the rhd scene up here constantly upgrades to the newer models.
and as your dollar is worth so much more than ours, you will pay less at the end of the day buying any rhd car from here.
