I know this is a late offer, but if any fellow pirates need a place to camp or park an RV I will open up my place to a few, no charge. Just don't be a douche, or bring a bunch of people.
We were going to rent out our lawn and RV hookups to the public and make some cash but decided against it.
I'm at about 99% at my house, 100% is only an hour or less drive.

We left Sacramento on Thursday, spent the night with relatives in Klamath Falls, and then saw Crater Lake on the way to Madras Friday. Not a bit of slow traffic. Everyone was at or slightly above the limit the whole way. We also filled up gas in Bend with no problem. I'm staying away from prineville.

Smoke has been an issue, really hoping the cold morning will keep it at bay for Monday.

Oh yeah - and it's a windy day for a tent trailer.

How was your .3?

My .4 still showed plenty of light, like, just before complete sunset.

But not total darkness.

I'm a new man. My entire being has changed on a molecular level, I can see sounds and smell colors. I am one with the universe.

I think they were essentially the same... Had a small sliver showing. I think the coolest part was how dark it got, street lights came on, animals kind of freaked out, etc.

Fawk you too !

The temp suddenly dropping noticeably was pretty neat.

And the shadows showing the sliver of the Sun was pretty cool too.

63% in Phoenix. You couldn't tell anything was happening.

But it did give me an excuse to go outside for a half hour and blow off a conference call.

Overall report card: Lame. The one I saw in NW Wyoming in 1979 was darker than this.....seems like that one was close to 80%, and even then it just seemed a little more shadowy outside.

I was at 99.6 yet still surprised at how much light was still shining.

Cooled way down in temp ( 15 degrees roughly) and got dusky sorta like a fog bank rolling thru.

We were at 90% here in Zootown, ya need 100% to get total darkness but that brought out the lizard people from Zarkon...it was predicted back in 1983.
A real life clip taken when the advance scouting party showed up...

Yup, I feel like the world is now a better place and sounds are brighter and smells are louder. I posted the nutsack video on twatter and used all the stupid hashtags people who actually care about it have been using. I got a email from twitter and now my tweets are labeled as explicit or offensive because they received several reports on it.....

I guess..... They told me how to turn it off, but there's no such section in my settings to turn it off.
Or wait, is there some joke I'm missing here......

Yes. It was kinda strange, as it got darker it got very noticeably colder and once it was 100% stars were out. It was easily one of the coolest thing I've ever seen. I'm in The Dalles now eating. Havent had too much traffic at all. Just a couple mile back up coming into Condon so far.

the news was saying something like the difference between 99% and 100% was approximately 10,000x brightness

Didn't even notice the 5% or whatever they got on 90 in Montana. I knew when it happened because it got slightly darker through the forest fire smoke.
