Register vehicle or no?

I am selling my jeep this week and wondering about the registration. We had my ex's name removed from the title two weeks back and got a temp registration until the registration papers and new title came in. I just got the registration form but still waiting on the title. Do I have to pay the $37 registration fee if I get the title and sell the Jeep this week? Would the temp registration be enough?

This is in PA.

I'm pretty sure you have to wait for the title to sell it. If have a temporary registration, didn't you already pay the registration fees?

If he has a temp tag, then yes, he should have already paid the reg fee. Gmcz is correct though, you'll need that title to be able to actually sell it. I'd say call a local place that does transfers and ask just to be sure.

You can sell a vehicle without the title in hand if you have a legal bill of sale which most used auto dealers will have a copy of, or you can find it on the DMV website. When you receive the title in the mail you can then sign it and hand it over to the new purchaser. However most buyers will not except a bill of sale only when buying a vehicle.

The bill of sale would have both my name and my ex gf's name on it. I would think that would require her to be there for the sale? That is something I am trying to avoid.

The new title is in my name only.

if the title is is your name then only you need to be there.

no registration is needed unless you plan on driving it, new owner will need to get their own registration

need additional info PM PEWPEW he is the resident expert on registrations

If the new title is in your name only why would you have her (exes) name on the bill of sale? Thats just asking for issues. No need to register in your name to sell unless you plan to drive it after the temp expires. If youre not going to drive it dont register it.
