Yup, no reason to act like a little child having a hissy fit.

Be professional about it and leave without any hassle.

Never pays to burn a bridge. You may find yourself in dire need of a job some day when they are hiring again.

Plus most of the 'revenge' antics people talk about only end up impacting your fellow coworkers and not the person who axed you.

I showed up on my last day, boss asked for keys and badge than took me out for beers.
He hits me up every now and then to see if I want my old job back. I laugh and ask him if he wants a job.

Last time I was let go, I just made sure to submit my expense report and turn in my keys. 6 weeks severance, and on the last day of the six weeks, I receive 100% of my expense reimbursements.

Meh, I’m sure this person will get hired in some socialist fascist camp right away having in their opinion, street creds.

I thought it was pretty stupid thing to do. Just another NWC libertard.

I never read twitter or Trumps tweets either, I just like that he uses it and it pisses off the media.

I've quit most jobs on good terms and been offered jobs back. But my current job? If I won the lottery I'd carry the giant cardboard check around for weeks until they fired me. I'd have hooters girls deliver Arby's food for me and my buddies, and on the last day I'd have Arby's girls deliver hooters food for the bosses.

Also, our shitter was getting really bad, way past jiggle the handle, maintenance wouldn't replace it, our management wouldn't jump the chain of command to make it happen. I was going to buy and replace the toilet with my own $40 so I could take it with me on my last day

I had one I fired (always late, grandma died several times, etc.). He texted one morning and said he would be late and I finally had enough and said don't bother, I'll send you your last check. Man, that kid called me every name in the book. A month later he hit me back up and apologized and said he didn't realize how good of a job he had (we paid really well for labor positions - inside work, regular hours, same location all the time). I laughed and told the kid he just had his first lesson in burning bridges. He then told me to fuck myself and he didn't mean any of it and he didn't need a job from me

my buddy stood up in the bosses office and removed his company uniform and said his goodbyes in his boxers and undershirt. The manager said he'd still hire him back.

I don't give my employee an opportunity to show their ass. When I fired them, it is effective immediately. I usually do it before or after working hours. I will help them box their stuff and get it to the car if they want me too.

I still talk to and go dirtbiking with an old coworker/boss. Every time I call him, he answers the phone with "So are you coming back to work?" :

That's how it's always been for me, on the three times I left a 'career' job (never been fired from any job).

Generally....the whole department or company went out to lunch and we said "Goodbyes." Seemed rather cordial, really.

My part-time gigs in college, H.S., etc., were just working my last day and leaving.

The only lay-off was just an announcement that we did not need to come back after Thanksgiving (told to us on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving).

The only reason I play the office pool is the thought of coming in the next day and being the only one in the department.

I did tell them I buy all the same numbers so they'd have to split it with me.

Well played.

I'll add that I always give 2 weeks notice. I don't like my bridges burning.
