The real bullitt found...

The Original Bullitt Mustang Has Come Out of Hiding

Quite an iconic ride to have remained a secret for so many years!

It wasn't at the time. Also, the movie was not about the chase scene (unlike today). The chase scene was just something that happened in the movie, and it was cool.

Those 390 Mustangs were slow and had excessive understeer like all Fords of that era...

With INSANELY big cars, on those tight SF streets. That '67 Mustang is BIGGER than today's new Lincoln Continental!

Isn't that true of most cars from the era?

Yeah, they did quite a bit to those stunt cars to work on that. AND for it to stand up to the jumps.

Wait...so all this noise is over a bone stock 68 Mustang GT in the dark green color? You mean of the thousands that exist still this one is the golden pony?

Meh...decent movie, over rated car

Damn, some of you really could use a tube of vagisil

It was/ is a cool movie and to many the car played an important role.

Kind of like the Trans-am in the original Smokie and the Bandit...

But neither of those cars is anything special in the least. Iget the search for Eleanor because at least she was a customized "one off" vehicles in movies.

I'm not saying the movie isn't iconic in some way, but it isn't like someone unveiled James Deans bathtub Porsche which at least is a rare car from the start and not a mass numbered car you can find everywhere if you look for 5 seconds.

remember the guy (drawing a blank) that had the biggest baddest 4 seat buggy on earth here? Red and silver, Rockwell's, 502, 44's, hot chicks, etc? The most cutting edge shit anyone had ever seen.

I keep waiting for it to pop up in the ghetto fab hackjob thread. It's gonna happen one day.

That kind of sums up PBB in a sense. Every annual tragedy...the snowback takeover, the great password debacle...the previous era of PPB staples immediately becomes taboo in the wake of the "new bestest best greatest Instafamous" thing and all roots are lost or antiquated.....or still hanging out in the Toyota section completely unfazed and still sporting leaf springs and bald 37" Reds.

It only had A 454. So dumb

Actually that thing has been reworked a bunch of times, somebody cut the roof off and welded an abortion on top. Last I saw it here it was really ugly.

Last I saw that buggy, the roof had been cut off and redone. It looked a lot different and not bad. It was sold to someone on the west coast.

Edit, wheels beat me to it

I just remember him smoking all 4 on some trail at Tellico (?) and thinking, I guess if I had to money to that I would too, but it also looked like it could be crawled at 5psi of tire pressure.
