Another pit bull attack

Dogs feasting on human flesh for 40 minutes - WTF!? - all four of her limbs were severely mauled and she has already lost an am and a leg.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/us-new...video-12510594

A woman is fighting for life after being torn limb from limb by a pack of four pit bulls.

Terri Cosby, 54, was walking through a street in Oklahoma City in the US when she was attacked.

Locals said the dogs have plagued the area for months, leaving them afraid to go out.

One witness called police and said: "They're eating this woman. I mean they're killing her.

"And we're trying to stop it.

"There's blood all over the place. And these dogs have tasted it."

Police responded and fired dozens of shots to put down the wild animals on Saturday night.

Mrs Cosby suffered severe injuries and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

She had to have an arm amputated and may lose a leg, her family said.

Shocking bodycam footage which has been released shows one police officer running to the scene then asking a colleague: "Where’s she at?"

The officer responds: "Right there! She’s over there! I got one. They went inside the house.

"I shot one, but there’s still one and they ran into a house."

The officer with the bodycam goes to find the victim.

"All right. Where’s the person that’s bit?" he asks a witness.

"Right here, man. They’ve been chewing on her for like f***ing 40 minutes," the witness responds.

As the officer tries to talk to Mrs Cosby, one of the dogs runs back out and more shots are fire.

"Come on dog, don’t do this," says another officer.

Calvin Stevenson who lives down the street described a gruesome scene.

"It was like the dog had already ripped her flesh off and was holding on to the bone and just wouldn’t let go," he said.

All four pit bulls are now dead.

The owners of the pit bulls told a local news channel on Monday that they had plumbers working in the back yard on Saturday who accidentally left the gate open, allowing the dogs to get out.

Police are investigating to determine if the owners will face any charges.

Terri Cosby's family are trying to raise money to cover her extensive medical costs - to donate click here.

Yeah we're gonna need a source on this video. I don't believe these dogs are pit bulls, or that pit bulls would do this.

They are traditionally known as Nanny Dogs. They were bred to be docile with children and have a low human-aggression. They are to protect children and take rough handling from them. Mine is great with kids, she's afraid of her own shadow.

So yeah, video or Fake News.

Oh I see.

Yeah could be any dog. Probably something like a Lab or Chesapeake, they are biters and were chewing on her for 40 minutes.

Not pit bull.

This is how I know the breed. We’ve had three in our lives, my kids were raised with pits in the house. Not so much as a growl out of any of them directed toward a kid, not even “strangers”

Unfortunately fuckwit backyard breeders, and people who shouldn’t have a goldfish have really screwed the breed. I’m going to guess the dogs were not trained, socialized, or “fixed”

Article says they were let out of a yard by accident. Not strays.

Non-profit organization who does temperament testing for all dog breeds (submitted to them for testing)

Find test results for the APBT, then compare your breed’s test results (breed statistics)

Pits have gotten a pretty bad rep but before that it was Rots and before those it was Dobermans. The issue with a pit (the way I see it) is the amount of damage the can and have done when they snap. I'd much rather fight a GS than a pit. Not saying I'd win either but I think my odds are better with the GS.

Also, remember Petey from the original Little Rascals? Guess what...

OKKKKK - how does a dog with low human aggression protect a child? Does it write a strongly-worded letter to the editor?

It protects the child from other dogs, bears, coyote. Other breeds are more flighty than the Nanny Dogs, who are animal-aggressive. The Pit Bull was designed to beat those aggressive animals while being docile toward humans.

That's it's only bad owners, not bad dogs. And I don't believe OP had 'pit bulls' anyway, could have been boxers or another short-haired breed.

Pit Bulls are the greatest family dog. You have never experienced family loyalty until you bond your baby with a pit bull. You should introduce the baby to the pit bull right away, and leave them alone together so that the pit bull becomes protective of the child.
