American conservatives worship him - and obviously there is much to admire - but in certain areas he was quite the nightmare for small government proponents.

On the rise of people in the democrat party who are openly socialistic, I think it's a good thing. Does anyone think that Obama, Hillary, Pelosi, Reid, etc, were any less progressive than Bernie? They were just less sincere about their beliefs.

Hopefully the American people have a chance to hear the merit of these ideas discussed and they see how ridiculous they are. In 2016 I was hoping to see a Cruz/Sanders debate, which never came.

YES.

Here, let me rank them for you, and throw in a few more to round things out:

Bernie
Pelosi
Pocahantas
Reid
Obama
Clinton
Biden
McCaskill
Fienstein (mostly on National Security)
Ben Nelson

I have said it many times before. This county needs someone like McCarthy again. Someone to put the fear into the socialist/democrat scum. Perhaps run a few out of the country on rails or arrange a few "accidents" to befall them.

...or, a J.Edgar Hoover who takes notes on elected officials proclivities.

WHat you are seeking to do would be easy to implement with AI. You simply define the twitter feed of Peter Fonda as the baseline, and sort folks from there.

Call it The Peter Meter.

And, Chelsea needs to just Amy all the way home.

Werks for me.

You must be kidding about Pence.

Might as well elect Calvin Coolidge again.

Of course, if your goal is to turn the U.S. into Eastern Germany, circa 1968, he's your man.

Ivanka will be as old as Hillary by then, and Pence will be on life support (unless his illegal alien attendant pulls the plug)

And they will both be better than this chick. Saw an interview with her and it was one slogan after talking point after nothing sentence. No substance, no answers, no policy. Just the press fawning over her. She has already been found to be a liar or at the very least she REALLLLY exaggerated her upbringing so i don't see her lasting long

If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.
Calvin Coolidge, Address at the Celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia on July 5, 1926.

Curious to hear your reasons for disliking Coolidge.

Coolidge was the last true limited government president we had. He dismantled the legacy of the first wave of progressivism, following Wilson's presidency. That would be the last time progressivism would be rolled back

In my opinion, one of the best presidents of this nation. Naturally, he's ignored by the people who create the "best presidents lists", who adore FDR and all the progressive presidents.

Right after Woodrow Wilson - the darling of the left - had resegregated the military and federal work force.

you know that screwy can't love coolidge, because coolidge didn't want welfare. He wanted work, and he wanted the federal government to stay the fuck out of the free market.

all things that screwy dislikes, because he needs the government to take care of him and make his business equal to all the others.

Letter from Coolidge during his presidency:
(the bolded part is interesting too!)

Quote:
My dear Sir:
Your letter is received, accompanied by a newspaper clipping which discusses the possibility that a colored man may be the Republican nominee for Congress from one of the New York districts. Referring to this newspaper statement, you say:

“It is of some concern whether a Negro is allowed to run for Congress anywhere, at any time, in any party, in this, a white man’s country. Repeated ignoring of the growing race problem does not excuse us for allowing encroachments. Temporizing with the Negro whether he will or will not vote either a Democratic or a Republican ticket, as evidenced by the recent turnover in Oklahoma, is contemptible.”

Leaving out of consideration the manifest impropriety of the President intruding himself in a local contest for nomination, I was amazed to receive such a letter. During the war 500,000 colored men and boys were called up under the draft, not one of whom sought to evade it. *They took their places wherever assigned in defense of the nation of which they are just as truly citizens as are any others. Th*e suggestion of denying any measure of their full political rights to such a great group of our population as the colored people is one which, however it might be received in some other quarters, could not possibly be permitted by one who feels a responsibility for living up to the traditions and maintaining the principles of the Republican Party. Our Constitution guarantees equal rights to all our citizens, without discrimination on account of race or color, I have taken my oath to support that Constitution. It is the source of your rights and my rights. I propose to regard it, and administer it, as the source of the rights of all the people, whatever their belief or race. A colored man is precisely as much entitled to submit his candidacy in a party primary, as is any other citizen. *The decision must be made by the constituents to whom he offers himself, and by nobody else. . . .
