So sorry for your loss

I never met your dad in person, but got to know him a bit here

You coming in here bizarrely has made me a little bit misty

I'm at work, so bad timing

I only have a daughter, so you've hit home a bit

A most appropriate homage to Jeff to grab that moniker for your eternal pirate log in. :thumbs up:

Sorry we have to meet under such circumstances. This place can be easy to misjudge especially by one thread but you seem to have the right attitude. Jeff took a lot of crap and dished it out. We only really make fun of the people we like. I never met him but he seemed like a great guy.

I'll never forget his post about the accident on his ship.

I'm glad i got to know him even if only a little bit on here.

Im quite literally a mini him. Really hard to offend me or get me in my feels. I promise y'all are all good. If no one would have acknowledged the fact that he was an asshole or a complete dickhead at times then y'all didn't really know Pops. But if you also didn't know that he had the biggest heart then you didn't know him either. Y'all were his family and it shows

This place just isn't the same without him. I think of CG often and especially anytime I make a pitcher of sweet tea.

When posting he was often stubborn and sometimes borderline retarded about whatever he felt like being stubborn about, but he was always the first to offer a hand or PM people to offer advice or help. Quite literally the type to give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it more than he did. Jeff just gave a shit about people and for all the right reasons. Whether it was something regarding workplace safety or just something he thought he could help with, he was quick to offer help.

I wish I hadn't deleted all the PMs from over the years he sent me unprompted offering help, advice, ect. Even when he stopped posting here and was just lurking it didn't stop him from PMing people trying to be helpful.

I quit drinking sweet tea years ago, but I may need to lift a glass in his memory next time we eat out

I never met Jeff IRL, only interacted with him on here. I think of him often because I have a soft spot for Camaros too. I think of him often when we are messing around with mine and my son's cars.

Many, or possibly most of us here are fathers ourselves, and I'm sure you're making more than one of us misty eyed by being here, and representing.

Didn't know him besides talking on here, but anyone that's a legend around this joint is bound to be a hell of a guy.

Bought him a steak dinner and a couple of beers a few years ago when he came back to Illinois for a funeral. Very good guy. This was the weekend of getting money together to buy the new computer for SuperBeast and his phone was blowing up all night with PM's and other messages.

acehole, if you are ever back in the Piasa area and need anything PM me and I will help with whatever I can.
