Pick up an old windsurf mast or three. Light, bends enough, will not snap. Can be stacked, sort of.

4 foot hole, rebar, concrete, metal sub to stick the mast onto, done.

Been working great since June of last year. Even had some nasty 70 mph winds. Not gonna lie it's got some flex to it. But so far so good.
I think I'm going to order the 30 foot one. I swear I got the 25 but now it might have been the 20. Still looking awesome. Even the solar light still going strong.

I can't tell from the picture, the solar light looks like a half-assed way to comply with Flag code. Seems kind of dismal.

Per the american legion no light is required as long as ambient light is sufficient enough to see the colors on the flag.

The LED light is MORE than adequate.

I don't recognize the American Legion as a legal authority because, well, they're not.

4 U.S. Code § 6. Time and occasions for display

Quote:
(a) It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.
The opinion of the American Legion (of which I'm not a member) and the Flag Sellers on the internet is that some ambient lighting is all that's required, or their weak and dismal solar lights.

My opinion is that a spotlight is proper illumination.

Clearly the weak little solar light and keeping it on 24 hours is not due to 'patriotic effect'. It's due to laziness and commercialism, which I myself fully claim. I'm not going to fly a flag because it will always seem improper to fly one that isn't spotlit or if someone isn't doing Colors. Because I don't want to get up at sunrise every day and dink around with a flag, and because I don't have a big spotlight, I'm not flying one.

My statement stands. That tiny little light is just to skirt the Code.

So is this what Everdouchecanoe's flag code requires for proper and legal illumination of a flag according to the EDC code?

Sharpie marker a graphic on a pillowcase, duct tape it to a PVC pipe, tie wire that to the car on the blocks. Don't be ashamed, work with what you got.

Skip the PVC pipe, just spray paint a black squiggle and the word "no" on your yellow car and it's instantly a Gadsden flag.

So you are saying, a Citizen of the United States of America who
is doing the best they can to fly our Flag at their home may be doing a dismal job; because, you can’t fucking tell.

Go fuck your face with your wife’s dick. The man is trying to do the right fucking thing as best he can and you are going to criticize him. You are an asshole.

I think the guy that is willing to do his best flying the flag day in, day out, night in, night out is better than a piece of shit that will neither fly it because “I can’t do it perfect” or a fucking piece of shit anti American socialist that thinks flying it is wrong.

The man did his best and you criticize him for trying to be patriotic, fuck you.

Look at my other post with my WWII Grandfather and his son standing under the flag pole at our camp. Flag flew day night no matter what, because he fought for it and loved our country. Was it always lit, no, but it was always there, just like the fucking Star Spangled Banner said it was.

Go to his grave or tell me how he was wrong, and I will feel bad that you would put Laws, rules, and or regulations ahead of someone doing their best to be patriotic.

Edit: I’ve had a few drinks and may have overreacted to Noobs post, but I think I got my point across for anyone else that is willing to nit pick.

This is the pole at my family’s property.

50 gallon drum filled with concrete. Two stub poles with main pole sandwiched between them. Has been up forever. Pretty easy to put up and down and solid as well.
Here it is easy to find.
Click the picture.
