Sitting in a Hotel in WA south of Spokane.

It seems that the pushrod from the booster to the MC is short... then is about 1.5" of movement on the pedal before the brakes start to do anything. That rod is adjustable, and @nvrstuk has a welder so we can make it work!

Tried to adjust the windows and didn't do as good a job as I had hoped, but up to 75 or so it was a drastic improvement... after that they opened up and got noisy again...

Rear end isn't getting any worse but the whine makes me know it needs rebuilding.

Since we are in a nanny state now, the speeds will be lower (RPM Lower) so we will see that the Dynomax drone is gonna be and that will determine how fast we have to fix the exhaust.

Other than that, the AC is still disappointing. Maybe it is the window adjustment that is letting in/out too much ambient air, so with the lower speeds in WA we may find out.

Here to nvrstuk, then buy a plane ticket, get to Sea-Tac and head back to NC...

Send a message via Yahoo to Little Red Zuk
For the rear end, there's a good diff builder in Port Orchard, about 30 miles from Bangor over on the Peninsula. John at Rears and Gears is a good guy. Small shop, and sometimes he won't answer the phone if it's fishing or hunting season.

Well we made it.

2786 miles on an untested car.

1 failure (brake booster) that delayed us 2 days.

Left Sunday 8/26 and I was dropped off at the airport at 07:00 on Saturday 9/1.

Was stranded in Rapid City SD for 48 hours waiting parts, and spend 8/31 in Ellensburg WA.

Longest drive day was from Rapid City SD to Cheney WA, 872 miles (started at noon).

Window still need adjusting... hard to do on the road when you have to keep re-assembling everything between stops.

Also, the brakes are so touchy that you can easily put someone thru the windshield if you slam on them...

My son is happy, so I guess that is all that really matters....

Now home to catch up on all the shit I have been postponing for the last month trying to get everything wrapped up...

To all those offering help, thank you. It is very reassuring to know that you are only a couple of hours from help, no matter how far you go. As with the other support aspects, it is one of the great things that keeps me a paying member here.

Build of that EB has been ongoing for the 20 years I have known him, and at least 10 before that.

he builds it, breaks it, rebuilds it better than it was before, rinse, repeat....

That is a hell of a trip I'm honestly surprised that's all the issues you had.
And as far as being stuck somewhere, Rapid City is one of my favorite places to party--seems like it would have been a good place to be. Better than nowhere middle of SD or Iowa or something.
Is he going to try and DD it or is it just a toy?
