Cruz V Beto

The Cuban/ American V the Irish American

Thoughts? Iíve read some articles but looking for more points of where they stand on certain issues.

Cruz-pro gun, pro small governmentish, pro life, pro constitutional rights.
Beto-pro gun control, marijuana legalization, prior criminal record, can play a guitar and ride a skate board and has played in a punk rock band, changed his name to relate to the strong Hispanic vote.

My vote is going for Cruz, but down in the Valley where democratic Hispanics are a prominent force, I think Robert may give him a run for his money.

Beto will get the same votes all the other democrats get. Houston, Austin, Dallas and a few counties on the boarder. Cruz will take the rest and win.

It's pretty obvious who Beto is pandering to. Theres a reason hes not using his last name. On that note, theres a reason Ted changed his name too

Hmm, a Democrat with a criminal record or a candidate I disagree with on one issue... dont twist my arm.

My opinion is this race is being overblown to attract attention and fire up the democrat base. I'd guess Cruz has a 10+ point lead and will win by at least that.

If Texas elects a Democrat senator, 2020 is going to be rough. The Democrats don't waste majorities in all three houses like the Republicans do.

Beto is funded by George Soros. Way too many of those yard signs everywhere now too. I also believe he has openly talked about being socialist.

If Beto wins Texas, I expect a retraction in all the bash CA threads.

Agree on the socialist label. But then again, it’s like every democrat is beginning to agree that socialism is the the cool thing to do so they want to roll with it.

Google pulled this up researching his arrest...

See I’ve had this debate with my buddy. He began to shout that Cruz is a racist when I immediately informed him that Cruz has Cuban roots and “Beto” is simply an Irish guy that changed his name recently to pander to the Hispanic vote (not a dumb move on his part because those mush for brains have been eating it up). Upon this revelation, said buddy redirected to “what has Cruz done for you as a Mexican?”

Iím seeing Beto signs everywhere. Even in rural areas. That being said, I have yet to see anything from Cruzís team on Beto. I think once we get closer to election time, Cruzís team will start dragging all of Robertís skeletons out of the closet. I am curious to see the debate between the two.

I believe Cruz has already made claims to Beto’s anti gun stance and prior arrest record. From what I’ve read, Cruz has also invited Beto to a debate stage and Beto has refused. Something having to do with the target audience...

I’ve seen a few Beto signs around here...a whole lot more than the Cruz signs which I’ve seen 0 times. I just hope Cruz isn’t taking his opponent lightly.

Over the past two weeks Iíve noticed more popping up in our neighborhood. What surprised me more was seeing a bunch in the rural areas in Lavaca and Fayette counties.

Beto Signs are everywhere here. heís for amnesty, open boarders, universal healthcare and I think skateboards. I got 2 different text from their campaign wanting to send me signs. I kept telling them no. Then they called. That was a good move.

Texas, the new California.

They ruined that state, they are now moving towards taking over Texas.

was talking with my old man yesterday, he worked in El Paso a lot back in the 60s and 70s, said the O'rourke family basically was corrupt as shit and had built their own network of bribes and corruption, similar to what the valley has (sorry 72Blaser, you know its true). they were just the irish that had been there in El Paso for a while and ran that racket.

he said one thing they would do is drive across the boarder, load up a bunch of guys, bring them back to work and then take them back across the boarder and pay them when they dropped them back off.

i said, "atleast they took them back"

Beto is very bad. and yeah, he changed his name so he can pander to the mexicans. Robert O'Rourke loses to Ted Cruz in a name only race, every damn time.

Its just like Tony Romo. The valley mexicans loved him because they actually thought his name was Tony Ramos. That is not a joke.

Cruz doesn't have the out of state money Beto does. hell you have to go to his web site and buy a sign. Beto is handing them out for free like Christmas turkeys. I heard Cruz is planning a 60 hard hit before the election.

I've been getting messages from the Cruz camp asking for money.

The dems are pouring a lot of money into that race. I suppose that means that money is not being spent in other places where they may have a better chance to beat an incumbent republican.

@Texas97 I believe I’ve agreed with you on the corruption down this way, including the recent raids by Texas Rangers on the Edinburg voter fraud cases...

I must have missed your article link on the other thread. That’s actually what lead to this spin off.

Been getting Beto texts. Those are fun to troll. They eventually just stop responding.

I've seen a good handful of signs around the neighborhood. I'll be voting for Cruz, and I don't have a Cruz sign in my yard, so hopefully there's more doing the same than we all realize.

He's just a typical gun-control socialist democrat. And I'm getting tired of seeing his ads on every local TV channel.

that is a lie.

I don't agree with everything that Beto is about, but he is a good dude and has been a good congressman. He may not win, but ALL of his money is small amounts and not from Pacs or Soros or any of the other big brokers.

the criminal comments are bullshit too... He was a kid and in a band and smoked a little weed... bfd.

I know people who have worked with Cruz and have not had good things to say about him as a person... but, he is there to do a job so, I only care from the standpoint that I struggle to support someone who is an asshole.. but... that is why it is close.
