I would check a good hardware store. My local ace hardware in bfe sells them in the row with all the pullout drawers.

If you can't find them local, McMaster Carr has about a dozen varieties in 1/4-28. I'm in Tampa and get stuff from their ATL store in one day with regular UPS shipping. They have a facility in LA, so you are probably the same time frame for delivery.

Motion industries might have it in stock. Or Summit racing will get it to you in a day.

Motion industries didn't have anything.

Wound up at a place called TOGNOTTI'S.

If I had to compare it to something it would probably be a small summit store.

Togs is an institution.

It was a Safeway, and it's been there forever. It was there in 1983 when I moved to Sac.

Yep, Safeway. My grandfather was the architect. He did all the Safeways in the area back then

If you can't find anything midwest control products would have it I guarantee... I've bought a shitload of different sizes from them to stock up the bolt bins so I have them at the ready for any kind of project I might need them for.

That's cool. All the old Safeway's had a cool mid century look to em. Your grandpa had good style.

Was actually on a machine for welding sheet plastic.

A DEMTECH Machine to be exact.

Some gorilla and had previously broke the hinge lock mechanism so there was no tension on the self feeder.

The replacement machine was down in Bakersfield.

That's cool. It's a great legacy, I wonder how many are still operating in the same building. The supermarket went through a strange expansion and contraction about 20 years ago. We had an Albertsons in Vegas that became a Raleys then a Vons, over the course of about 3 months.

another vote for McMaster, used 1/4" heims for the throttle linkage in my Willys. Tons of different styles and specs. Any time I need to order something small like this, I usually order a handful of extras to keep around for future projects.

I donít think any are left anymore after a major remodel. I think the last was the one that was built in the spot of the Alhambra theater. That Safeway was fully redone a few years back. The only plans we have left are those of family members. I wish I saved more tho.

Safeways are on a 10-15y scheduled remodles, ive done most of the safeway store signs in the ca bay area sacramento, and surroundy areas. Most complexes do mass remodels and everything gets a new fascia and signages. Not many free standing stores anymore and thats about the only way they get to keep a vintage fasade for any extended time.
