Id take the lump sum and buy a big ass ranch with a nice house. Run cattle and live away from the masses. You never know when your number is up. Could be tomorrow. Think screwy. I’d help out my kids and direct family. I think that would bring me more happiness than anything else. Helping others out. I’d also make sure my kids were taken care of after I was gone. No hookers and blow for me. I’m too old for that. I’d probably have a damn heart attack.

Lump sum. The only reason they offer the payouts is that they can play with the money and gain the interest on it while sitting in their account instead of yours.

Lump Sum, like others said I don't know if they would keep good on their end of the deal. I'd take the money and run. Buy a house on 200 acres in the middle of no where Montana and never be seen again. I would invest 80% of the money, pay off my direct familys bills and set up a trust fund for my little brother for college. I'm going to smash my phone and buy a metro PCS burner phone from shaws. I'd probably take up helicopter lessons too. God you could do so much with that kind of money.

Lump sum. Then hire the best doctors to get myself in tip top shape and figure out the rest later.

Payments are for liberals that cannot control their money?

Lump Sum.

My Co-worker and I were talking about this today. At $800-ish million the lump sum would be enough to give all my co-workers a straight million and only leave our boss a tightly coiled lump sum on the top of his desk.

https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/gene...bers-work.html

Without getting into it too much our boss likes to pull this type of shit when he thinks people have been working at the company too long. It would be awesome if all his direct reports had the ability to tell HR what he's really like.

Lump sum.

Between 1 and 5 million comes right off the top for a "revenge" fund to get back at all the mf'ers who've fucked with me in the past.

Lump sum. I'd pay off my parents house, build myself a reasonable house with a good size shop, buy a reasonable truck and a couple Panheads and put enough in an account to cover property taxes for a decade just in case. Half the remainder gets invested, the other half is fuck you money.

That's what I figured but has anybody actually done the math to see how much more and what the payments would actually be on that kind of winnings ?

On the payments... say you found a way to blow through your 10 mil/yr and were broke in 6 months , its not like you cant find someone to loan ya a couple MIL to get ya by till next payment.

I get why people go lump sum ....Im just curious how much better the payments works out.

Even basic math...say you ended up 500 mil in payments over 30 years(after taxes) that's 16,666,666 mil/yr or $45k....a day!(counting weekends!)

I guess Im just greedy and want as much as I can get!

It would make sense if it were a up to maybe $10 million, but anything over that I would take the lump sum.

Always take the lump sum. This is why:

Lottery to again delay large payouts due to Illinois budget woes - Chicago Tribune

You never know when shit will go tits up and you will get jack shit. Lump sum, invest some in gold and other "real" assets that will still be worth something if the liberals get back in the White House and fuck our economy completely.

Lump sum all the way......business...fuck that, don't want that headache. This is obscene money we are talking about here that will grow incredibly with the proper instrument/vehicle. Lots of travelling though. When I run out of stuff to see/do stateside I'll consider world travel.

350 mil lump sum after taxes

Invest 300 mil
Set up trusts for my whole family 25 mil
Dump 5 mill on property and garage on said property to keep my cars
Cars...10 million in cars, all the ones I ever wanted
keep 10 million in liquid assets, spending money for the next who knows how long. Perhaps set up a shop of my own, who knows.

I dont think it has anything to do with greed.

It is obviously more money that I could ever use, but its just the right amount to set up a couple nice foundations and make some serious positive influences.

I would probably set up a foundation to help kids with college, probably kids who have lost parents, a foundation to help small town highschool football programs, the possibilities are endless.

if you are only looking at the amount paid to you from the lottery.

you could invest the lump in a very modest portfolio and double it every 7 to 10 years. do that for 30 years and there is no comparison
