Most excellent.

Damm right..

I nominate my ex boss for the purposes of this thread.

Unless there are objections by the membership.

I'll upload the pics I took of the shop that morning and let you all decide as he lost his only form of income but also lost his house and garage.

And he is up in years also almost 80.

Great news Karl. That means they can put the $ I sent to something else their kiddos or family needs!

$4,550 now!

The next several months are going to be rough. Butte county already had a housing shortage and now we lost roughly 15% of the houses in the county. I have a feeling lots of people will make light of the situation and leave the state. If we can raise $10,000 all the Camp fire refugees will be able to afford gas to get to the Nevada state line.

Well we already bought one with the money you sent. It felt odd by something frivolous at a time like this, with money I was handed. I just wanted to honor your request.

I promise that the one Karl sent will go to another family in need. From what I hear, everyone of his classmates and football teammates lost thier houses.

Which brings up something that's been bugging me, maybe we can do something about it. One of Coltons football team mates has a 12 yr old brother who has muscular dystrophy and requires a wheelchair to be mobile, along with other equipment in thier house. (maybe @Beat95YJ can help us with details, as I have no clue) They were unable to bring any of it when they left the house, which is gone. The situation we are in sucks and I can't imagine having to deal with all that on top of it.

I don't know where to begin with helping them. Does anyone have any ideas? Are there places that have equipment available?

If it helps him cope a bit better in such a tough time, it was a good decision to spend a bit on him. And YES, passing on whatever is not needed to others is great. There are lots of kids that will need something to distract them a bit.

This is an area where the boys family may need to offer some input as the specific needs for MD can vary widely, even for something as simple as a wheelchair. If the help train starts rolling for them as well, you may need to get the family involved at the beginning so we get things going in the proper direction.

Right now Frank is digesting 1.57 pounds of streamed asparagus, baked halibut and lightly chilled chardonnay. He should be with you momentarily.

Find out what width chair he needs and any other info. Manual, power, etc. A lot of my friends work for a nonprofit that takes in wheelchairs. If they have what he needs I will call in favors and get it to him. Just find out any details about what chair is needed. Does he need a catheterís? A shower chair? Can you find out and I will do everything in my power to get those for him.

Such sadness all around it seems

Hard to believe every kid in his class and football team lost their homes. Just goes to show the magnitude this fire had on your community. This is going to be really hard on the kids. I have a 13 year old son and I can't fathom how he'd be handling something like this and the thoughts that would be going through his head.

The kid with MS - is he without a wheelchair all together at the moment?

I have a spare mildly built '79 Toyota 4x4 up here in Canada, but that's probably a little far for you. How do you feel about Roxors?

I PM'd TomTom about sending some money. I'm going to snail mail a money order to him tomorrow (tried PayPal and something screwed up).

Stay strong guys

Also, for anybody that needs med supplies.

Also, Triumph Foundation thinks they can find him a chair unless it’s very odd.

Getting it to the border is easy - I'm only an hour north of it.

North of the Minnesota border that is. I'm thinking that's still going to be a long trek from Washington.

There was a large community of wheelers in town. There is an area around 25 miles north east in similar terrain to the Rubicon or Fordyce. Was there anything else distinct about it?

We are trying to get more info about the disabled boy. They are in the same boat we are with no where to put anything at the moment.

OK, so they did make it out with his chair but not the charger. They were also able to get a hold of his seat for the toilet.

That was my buddy Chris's daughters rig. They got caught in gridlock. Firefighters pulled them out and said, "RUN" They did, ended up jumping in back of a truck and hauled ass. The real shitty part is they had gathered all of his extensive gun collection, ~$40-50K, and it all went up in smoke.

He goes by Knucklehead, I beleive his pirate name is HaulinAss.

I have got storage room(20x20) in my shop for any one who needs it, for as long as they need. I'm a couple blocks from Sierra Nevada brewery.
