Yes, that is the general plan. I think there are a few details to work out such as:
-Which members lost their house? They will be less active on here now than ever.
-Do we include people who people who just made a profile to sell a transfer case 5 years ago that nobody else knows?
-Should we just include wheelers in general and make a good name for the pirate community?

So far the members that lost a house are:
YotaAtieToo
Wilson
Scooterloo
Lilbuddy
904_Runner
82Toycrawler

Santa_V2.0. Can you please add this list to the first post and add/remove names as information comes up.

Again we have been blessed, if I have to sort through some junk, so be it
im actually living in a new house that replaced the one that burned down(my friends dads house who died from cancer 6 months after getting his new house) in the valley fire, i know a bunch of people that lost their homes(1200 homes) so i can relate to what you guys are going through up there. its great to have 10000 diapers but theres just no room for it, cash gives you the ability to get exactly what you need, and how much of it you need.

best of luck to everyone up there

Not at all and I tried to stress that in the first post.

It's the same issue we had with the Santa Rosa fires. Tons of well intentioned people just wanting to help, turns out it was not really needed. I had a small group, 10-15 people, sorting the donations.

It became apparent pretty quick there are those that just want to help, even if they are just barely making it themselves. We had people rolling up to our donation drop off with $5k in brand new stuff to give to those affected, and others who just cleaned out their "stuff".

What wasn't new, went to the homeless in the city.

I have inside storage space for whoever needs it in chico. We also have an extra bedroom with a private 1/2 bath if needed, the family that was staying with us is now being well taken care of by their insurance.

@YotaAteToo, glad to hear you got insurance!

Good news.

From the people I've talked to who's houses survived, but are in the evacuated areas. They aren't in that much better of a place. They still have to live elsewhere with no idea when they will be able to return. Very little access to thier home and belongings, which have extreme smoke damage. One of them has had great luck with thier insurance paying out loss of use coverage and the other has not.

I still feel like those guys deserve some help.

I will need more time than I have tonight, but if I get the details I can edit the first post to reflect how each person was affected.

I was just making a correction. There are what 40-50k people evacuated? They are all affected and after personally seeing what is left of town; those with homes may be worse off.

-wytnkls
-dirtbag-711
-bib boy
-baker711
-yacker711
-mooseknuckle

All lost homes. There are a ton of wheelers in town. Many have been on this forum at one time or another.

Right, I was more posting for others who may not realize.

I agree, as much as we are sad about whatever unreplaceable items that were lost. Owning a home still standing that you may not be able to use for 6 months to a year or who knows how long is a pretty shitty spot as well. Obviously insurance is only going to do so much for loss of use and smoke damage.

Got 4 extra tickets to the Whitey Morgan concert in Chico this Saturday.
Anyone affected can have them, get your mind off of things for a while. Let me know ASAP.

Yup, I still am!

Should we wait to a certain date and split the money with whoever is on the list? I do not want to hold up distributing funds, but I also do not want to skip anyone.

Not meant to offend the process in place but, isn't the money now available best utilized for needs that are asap? I hope everyone in need has a few things in place at this time, adding some green lettuce for the moment to moment ancillary goods they have been doing without makes it all the better.

Don't know if this was mentioned as it has a bearing upon when those that live in paradise can go back.

Sheriff Kory Honea about when the town will be opened, section by section.

If it's a red R sorry I may have missed a page of the thread.

On the contrary, I think most have gotten a lot of help from thier friends and family circles, plus people who just want to help. I think many will be in a worse spot in a few months or so.

Noted, and thanks for that. It's good to hear that people have weathered the initial shock of so much loss so quickly. Staying with the updates (for me anyway), is being able to catch up in this thread.

with the fire not on the front page of the news any longer, people are not aware of those that were affected and it will be a very long road for them

I've got some toddler (1-2+ year old) toys and I think some other stuff that was going to be going to the goodwill. Does anyone need it? I'll mail it to anyone who needs it or knows someone who can use it.

Back up to first page. Got a few bucks to send from a pirate sale.

Before I put it up on cl I have an old ass 60 gallon 5hp 240v compressor I just replaced, it builds air slow but works, planned on replacing pump eventually but came across bigger compressor for too good of a deal. If someone would like it after they get settled again let me know. Happy to donate it and the little Lincoln 140

$8,870 is where are holding!

What does everyone thing about calling this coming Friday, December 14th, the unofficial end of the fundraising? I can get distributions going this weekend now that people are entering the rebuilding stage. After that if people want to donate they can send contributions directly to members.

Members that have been impacted by the fire and are on the first page of this thread please PM with how you want your portion sent to you. Cash, PayPal, poker chips, etc. Or text me if you already know me.
