I think they are pretty cool. I do suspect they will have a huge following.

I'm pretty pumped about them. They ended up being able to tow more than I expected and have some nice features. Yes, they are expensive but so is every new vehicle.

I'm curious to see how the diesel works out. In the other mid size trucks you take a fair horsepower hit to get marginal torque. With the Jeep it's a 20hp hit to get a lot more torque. Seems like a no brainer (especially in places you can delete the emission BS).

Personally, I would get the Mopar one tons, a lift, and a few other things to run 37's and have a hell of a tow rig for my side by side and occasional wheeler.

I walk by a local chrysler dealer during lunch sometimes just to get out of the office for a bit. They're advertising minivans at $44k with a rebate. So I'd say the price for a rubicon with no other options at $44k seems like a deal. I was able to finally price one out on the website and with what I wanted it came out to $54k retail. The 8spd auto was $2k of that.

Hopefully they make a ton of these and the prices come down. If you want something you can stick the family in, haul all the camping gear, and go do something like the rubicon, its a really hard combo to beat. I keep tossing around the idea of selling off all my vehicles and condensing everything into one. I could stop insuring, registering, and maintaining 3 different trucks and just focus on one.

Thanks for making me spit my water out. LOL. 10/10 would NOT recommend the Mopar U60's ever. Apparently Dana does not set preload and backlash on each axle independently. And, they do not always weld out the brackets all the way, and sometimes forget plug welds altogether. I have been through 2 full new sets, plus they ended up having to have a local shop rebuild the second set, but not before I had to finish bracket welds and weld up 4 plug welds that were never touched at the factory.

Fusion4x4, Dynatrac, Currie, ECGS, etc, for me.

I agree. Like an old muscle car. The new models have little in common with the originals. Friend had one of the original Jeep J20s. While the mileage sucked, it was a pretty fun truck to drive when your a teenager.

Local dealership has a fully loaded red Rubicon, $60,145 + $5,000 markup +TTL=about $72,000 out the door.

$68k CAD + all bullshit fees here locally, unsure if leather. Now that I’ve seen it in person I actually prefer the JLU. Something about the rear glass and ass end I don’t like about the JT

I can build a tolerable Rubicon for like 48k. But man is that expensive when i could get a nicer F250 or F150 that would be better at what I actually use my truck for.

Being a mall crawler is expensive

Shit thatís cheap! Every stealership around here is adding a $15,000 ďmarket adjustmentĒ on top of the sticker price regardless of features. (Rubicon or non) whatís worse is people are actually buying them with this ridiculous markup! For 75k Iíll stick with my Ram 1500 Sport. Itís way more truck, can actually haul my YJ, and it has the Hemi. (Why the fuck are they not offering the Gladiator with the Hemi?)

I'd love to see a comparison of cost breakdowns between Jeep, Dodge, Ford, etc.

There is no way a Gladiator costs the same to make as a loaded Ram 3500, DRW, etc.
