Did he say the 2500 was diesel, or did you?

Only difference between the 2 trucks is probably registration fees, axles, transmission and one has a lift. Just as stated in the first post.

Why do people ask stupid shit like this? One day, your balls will drop, and you will start to figure things out.

The 1500 is likely a significantly different truck from the 2500HD. Different frame, suspension, axles, engine, trans, tcase, massively different legal and real world payload and tow ratings, etc. I mean, sure it's the same cab, and maybe the same box...

Registration fees are whatever he wants to pay, and fairly irrelevant.

Registration fees are whatever he wants to pay?

Or they get paid or he decides not to?

And I know the differences between 2500 a d 1500. If it were a 1500hd it would just be a 2500 with lower fees in this state.

Someone that just wants a 4x4 chevy isn't looking at all the details of frame differences and axles anyways. He just wants to buy a chevy. Stupid thread is stupid.

These are both losers. If you don't need to do heavy hauling or towing, stop looking at 3/4 or 1 ton trucks. You're just paying for way more truck than you need. Look for the best condition, lowest mileage stock half tonner you can fond in your price range and buy it.

They're based on licensed/registered weights. You can register at whatever the fuck you want and either pay more or less. The downside is you might not be legal if you make it too low. If he's just brotrucking a 2500HD you've got some room to play with it and save a few bucks, IE whatever the hell the GVW is for a 1500. You're very unlikely to ever get scaled if you're not using the truck for anything but brodates and getting to the brocery store, not that he'd be over at that point anyways, unless maybe he had 5 fat bros and their broccessories in the truck with him.

It would affect his insurance premium by maybe 2-5% depending what he does, since that's how it's charged here. Not really worth it to fuck with it, IMHO, he'll spend far more than that on white sunglasses and new kicks in the first week of owning it.

It used to be the other way around though, since there was a GVW exemption for emissions in the Beyond Hope area (there was no emissions elsewhere). Everyone was registering their shitbox at 5001kg GVW, as paying a little more for that was better than trying to fix whatever made you fail.

If you are looking at gay ass Chevy's, especially an older 150,000 milish one, then go for the 2500 for sure. 1500 Chevys are gay new, a clapped out one isn't any better. 1500's have a lot more things fail than the 2500's in the 100-250k mile range. 2500 will be more reliable and serve you better.

Mid 00's 2500hd crew cab is the best and nicest truck GM has ever offered, IMO, not counting the almost new ones, as I have little experience with them yet.
