Honestly your best option is to buy 2 pairs of boots, one lined and one unlined. Bad news is it will cost more upfront
Good news is it will be twice as long before you have to get new boots.

On the original topic I use Obenauf's or Redwing boot oil.

One thing that has been casually mentioned but I'm gonna throw it out there for those who don't know, BOOT DRYER!!!! This has been the best thing to happen to my feet in my lifetime! As far as the boot treatment I use a mixture of 1/3 real neatsfoot oil, 2/3 pure beeswax warming the leather to soak it in properly.

My dad used to melt coon fat and brush it on. He swore by it.
