iron manifolds
couple junkyard turdblowers in the bumper
you know, because if you're going to put a muffler on it it may as well make the car faster at the same time

Super cool build! Friend has a Cayman S and while most think it's ghey as aids, it's a fun damn car to rip around in

Thanks fellas! 8 into 1 is going UNDER the engine, not over

Parts are starting to show up, I'll post pics as I get the pile consolidated. Might have found the hydraulic hoses, all 25 of them. Seriously, there's way too many on this car for such a simple clutch system.

8 into 1 exhaust design underway...gonna be tight. Thinking I'll go with a front sump oil pan to correct the oil pickup location with a rear engine design and also to make room for the exhaust toobs. Something like this:

https://www.cantonracingproducts.com...drift-pan.html

Designing my own collectors at the moment but hoping to find some 1-3/4" primaries to 4" and split it before it touches the rear bumper. 180 degrees to resonators then another 180 to bullet style mufflers and out the factory bumper cutouts. I don't design tubing much in Solidworks so this has been pretty fun to learn. Very early in the design stage but you can see the 8 into 1 circular pattern vs the double 4 into 1 merged to 8. 2" primaries shown on the latter but I'll change that to 1-3/4 and I think I can make it fit.

Usually I am against non-OEM engines. Putting a Mercedes engine into a BMW... you know, some french motor in some Lincoln...

HOW CAN YOU PUT AN AMERICAN MOTOR IN A PORSCHE ??!!"?!?"?!"$§?!%§?%&
Heads are exploding across Germany already.

Answer: it's an American V8. It will sound good.

Years ago I saw a 914 with a SBC stuffed into it. The guy also added huge fender flairs so he could run wide tires. That thing was really fast around an autocross track.

there's kits to put an ls into a 944.

I think it would be a riot, and probably real quick around a track.

I love Porsche's, IN!
I used to have a 1990 964 C4. One of my many regrets in life was selling that car. Especially since I see them at auctions getting 50-60K.

I think that's real optimistic. My 76 with the 3.2l 86 engine swap was a bit over 2700. That's with an aircooled all aluminum engine and a much lighter 715 trans, no PS, no PB and a lighter uni-body. This was numbers with 1/2 tank gas on Longacre scales. YRMV.

Looks like a fun swap. I'm still mulling over a 944 turbo with LS swap.

You know about Renegade Hybrids right? Those guys are squared away.

OH man that's gonna sound and look awesome, to bad you don't have room for 180 degree or tri Y setup to really get that racecar sound.

8-1 sound great but because of the large area where the primaries all merge, they are torque killers. Going from the 8-1 collector to a 4" pipe might make it worse. Maybe think about the collector funneling down to a smaller toob then transition back up to 4"

Fun project. The first thing I thought of (because I live in Commyfornia), is the problem with getting it smogged.
