Accident at EJS?

Heard chatter elsewhere that there was a bad accident at Easter Jeep Safari, didn't see anything posted here.

Anyone know what happened?

Accident at EJS?

What I’ve seen so far. Overland want to be goes to Moab. Doesn’t know how to wheel (especially around a crowd), gets hung up/high centered then gives it some skinny pedal. Runs over woman basically mutilates her leg. He runs into a gap between rocks. She gets air lifted out. Brand new JL is fucked.

Cherry on top is his YouTube channel.

Edit: maybe she didn’t give him a Jeep wave

Too many bolt-on rookies making a bad name, last year on Sierra Trek and now this.

Guided trips for people that don't have a clue.

https://gephardtdaily.com/local/pers...n-spike-trail/

MOAB, Utah, April 15, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — One person was airlifted to an area hospital after a Jeep accident on the Golden Spike Trail near Moab Sunday.

A Facebook post from Grand County Search and Rescue said the patient was flown by Classic Air Medical while emergency medical services and search and rescue were still en route to the scene.

“We were en route to this incident on the difficult Golden Spike jeep trail to assist as needed,” the Facebook post said. “We rely on the workhorse of our fleet, our rangers, to get us and EMS to the scene. “Shout out to our fleet manager and his team for building these amazing vehicles. Thanks to Classic Air Medical, such a great resource for our community for successfully completing this rescue.”

The photograph below shows the vehicle officials used to get to the Jeep.

Grand County Emergency Medical Services said: “Thank you to the team at Classic Air Medical who are able to access and start patient care quickly in the Moab back country. If you have not already please watch our video on safety for Jeep Safari.”

That video is above. The Easter Jeep Safari began Saturday and runs through Easter Sunday, April 21. For more information on the safari click here.

Golden Spike Trail is a 16.3 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Moab, that is rated as difficult to navigate.

All you need to go wheeling is a credit score these days. Jeeps and side by sides alike.

Probably 5 years ago me and a few buddies got trail tampon’d by a massive wayalife group on the rubicon. The level of driver “ skill” was baffling.

This problem is far from new. Close to 20 years ago, a run on another Moab trail turned into a fiasco with an under-equipped rig and a driver who had even less talent than equipment.

This is just not going to change, unfortunately. The trail leaders do need the wherewithal to tell someone that they just don't have the talent, skills, etc. to be on this run. But nothing will prevent them from going on their own.

Worst part about this is that [I assume] an innocent bystander is now paying a stiff price.

Probably only had 3 of 90 of his LEDs on. Couldn’t see where he was going. At least he’s got a shovel, should be able to dig out in no time.

Put the jeep in reverse back out and slap a hood on it. Good as new.

I wonder if some of this is RR4W's fault. Not the acident per se but the attitude that you can't go wheelin unless you spend 100k on a rig. They would rather you buy your way up than teach you. So people think if they have a Rubicon with 35s they can do anything regardless of experience. Half the trails for Jeep Safari now require 35s and 2 lockers even though 98% of them can be done mostly stock. We've done most of them that way. I watched a guy last year go up Wipeou in a bone stock Pathfinder.
It mostly just bothers me how people seem to buy their way into "clubs" without putting in any effort besides maybe some youtube videos.

You obviously have no clue about the accident that happened on Trek, there's nothing in common
