So he was arrested for building and selling rifles without the proper FFL license.
He should have known better, but we also know the ATF are bunch of fawkwhits who I wouldn't trust anymore than a crackwhore.

But that is a impressive pile of hardware, probably at least a 1/2 mil or so. The rabbi comments floored me, your people were almost exterminated because they were unarmed and defenseless and you have a problem with someone owning guns

For once, I'm jealous of what someone in California has! Lots of guns.

If a DA/cops want to get you in trouble they will find a way. Ever refuse to let a cop search your car? They call the K-9 over for a walkaround and then claim it hit on something and that gives them probable cause without your consent. The whole time the dog is jumping up on the sides all around your car scratching the shit out of it.

1,000 in the driveway on display.

Another 2,000 had an unfortunate police fishing accident.

Yup. I think we know less than 1% of the info needed to determine what's really going on in this case.

The owner is the grand daughter of one of the Gettys, he's the boyfriend. Something like that anyway.

I just read in a news article that the warrant was based on an informant who said he was dealing 50 cal BMG stuff, and that he did not possess a FFL for that. I wonder if the informant was Chris Steele?

Regardless, the feebs will be checking every serial number of every weapon.

There's military Thompsons like the paratroopers used to carry and there are modern versions which are semi-automatis. The Thompson Co has gone through several changes of ownership. Last I knew, the guns were manafactured in South Africa.

I had a modern version. It was heavier than my M-1 Garand. It was the second one I have had hands on. It would shoot as long as the magazine lips were not bent or worn.

For context, .50BMG is specifically listed as a specially licensed weapon in CA with limited ownership timelines. The ammo cannot be controlled as the parts are non specific, but LEO has cracked on folks possessing without proof of purchase and a host of other fucked hoops. The pics show a ton of stuff that is banned under CAs “Assault Weapons” definitions. Just having ammo loading gear could have put this guy in a bad place.

I can get a new one in 45ACP new but I’m sure like you said it’s made under another company today. I could get the short barrel paratroopers used but requires a fed permit to get it. I almost bought a setup from my local dealer years ago but man, too stupid heavy and I couldn’t justify the cost for the old style heavy pig, so I bought and old style modern 1911 instead.

I didn’t say that. What I said was for certain weapons, you will be under greater scrutiny. Once LEO is looking at you, all bets are off.

I wonder if they were stored in a safe "room". Someone that rich would have options most of us never even consider.

Probably had a house alarm system. But I doubt that flies with Cali rules.

Cali storage rules ONLY apply IF somebody who is unauthorized (not supervised, but not trespassing) gains access and commits a crime with your weapon provided said person is a minor AND you had a reasonable expectation that a minor would be in the vicinity of the fire arms.

So if the guy didn't have kids running around the house, no reason he couldn't have them all loaded and stacked in the corner or along the walls or in his bathtub if he wanted to.
