In highschool I used to build all the custom wheels for a local bike shop. I'd load up my bronco with the days parts and head down to the picnic table at the top of the launch ramp at the harbor.

I have that unit in every car I have. They also make a unit that records behind you (incase you are rear ended) but I have not ungraded to them yet.

Ramp is covered in algae and whatever else and doesn't exactly make the best friction when it is slicked over. At low tide you need wheel chocks plus a beefy vehicle even for a smaller boat (25'ish).

That's why it rolled into the water, using wheel chalk instead of chocks. Went right over it! Wheel chalk is illegal!

The state could put up live feed cameras at all public boat ramps. If they charged a subscription fee it would cover the cost of the cameras, the streaming and the upkeep to the ramps.

Personally, the IOP ramp is one of my favorites. Honestly, it is a shallow ramp but the idiots that come through there are staggering. My buddy keeps his boat there so we can drink beer and spectate

The old launch ramp in Antioch by the Fulton Shipyard used to have a bar at the top and tables outside, hours of endless entertainment were had there. Laughing at the drunks and dumbasses who couldn't drive.

OMG!

I took my boat for the first time this year.

I had started it up last week swapped in a new battery this morning before I left.

I launched it and idled it out past the no wake area.

I gave it gas it iw was running shitty, no power and wouldn't plane out.

I lifted the engine cover and could not believe my eyes. The engine compartment was taking on water FAST! Way faster than my bilge could get rid of it. I quickly realized that sinking was not just possible but very likely!

I had everyone put on life vests and aimed it for the boat launch which was a good 1,000 feet away.

I just barely was able to beach it.

The issue was that I forgot to reconnect the water intake pipe after taking it off to drain the system for the winter. What a stupid mistake that damn near sunk my boat.

Thankfully I pulled the boat out, pulled the drain plug, reconnected the hose, and took it back out with no issues.

forgot the plug numerous times

not sure that I have been more embarrassed than trying to put in a 42' Fountain with triples in a busy ramp and about to pull the trailer out and get the wave to hold. One engine was running like shit and one wouldn't crank and didn't even try the middle.

Then having to back back in further because he coudn't drive up on the trailer. Then having to try 3 time to get the boat on the pads straight.

It's embarrassing when there are people all standing around waiting and cheer like you don't know what you are doing when you finally pull out.

And hearing all the comments because rich people this or redneck that as they are waiting to put their 24' bayliner in

Years ago lady blew a red light and hit me, we pulled over and she blamed me said she had a green light (pretty sure she was on her phone) i just played dumb and said ok. She told her story to the police, as did i. Called her insurance and sent the video to i her insurance and she was immediately found at fault.

My problem is I’m too nice and honest and she was confident she had a green light and i started to second guess thinking maybe the light DID change and i didnt notice it was early in the morning. Yep cameras dont lie

I personally have no recommendations on a dash cam, the wife’s suck and mine kinda sucks but they work.

From looking at the clip again, you can see the reverse lights are on down in the bumper. I'm guessing he didn't notice it didn't make it to park, and the prop was the only thing keeping it from rolling backwards.
