Thought I'd read somewhere, that BFE was closed and trying for an upscale remodel with retreats and stuff.

Supposedly. But when you're balls deep in green, who has time to mess with that.

I hope not. He did let some media folks wheel there over EJS.

Area BfE is closed to the public but still very active. The Moab Film Commission has toured the property and plans to work on bringing as much revenue to the City of Moab through the property. It has had many private events from leading companies in different aspects of the auto world and still plans on cabins and RV camping. The expense on small cabins, shipping containers and the build out of RV spots is still in the works but financially Area BFE will continue to take bids and quotes but being tucked away from larger cities the cost and availability is tough. The old way of being wide open took its toll on the property and will never be allowed to go back to that. Obviously. Until a build out has started to allow a property management to occupy and live out their it will have to remain closed to the public. BFE will be a future destination for all in the future. Great things take time. I have no affiliation with BFE but have been involved with some of the events.

If you have a security clearance, you can work anywhere around Colorado Springs. You need secret to clean toilets in this town.

Was #1 on my list of places I wanna move to when I retire. 10 years ago, my projected funds were gonna get me a decent house with a shop. By the time it actually happens it's probably going to be 1/4 acre lot and a Sears yard shed.

Last time I was there was 2013, and while property value was steadily on the rise it was still doable. Did some snooping a few months back and HOLY SHIT. Nevermind. By 2030 it'll be L.A. with the $900k falling in crack houses.
