07 Honda Rice Cooker for a $100

I am 66 y/o and living with my parents. They have this fucking 07 Honda Civic rice cooker with just under 100K on the the clock. Mom doesn't drive (thank god) and dad is only an infrequent daytime trip to the library or doughnut shop.
Mother is a real fucking tight wad when it comes to maintaining any vehicles.

I am doing all the heavy lifting in this household; so they really don't need this Honda POS. I know dam well this rice-cooker needs plugs and at least a timing belt. I am sort of praying that the fucker explodes and Mother decides to call it quits on owning a car. I refuse to pay any expenses associated with this POS.

I was willing to lease or buy a fucking land yacht; but now I am thinking that maybe it would be wise to keep this rice cooker alive for awhile. I really don't think my parents are going to be on the planet much longer.

I really don't need a nice car; I would rather have a garage full of off road toys. If I need something nice; I would just rent it anyway.

It wont need anything for the next 100k. Chance the timing belt around 130-150 if it gives you the warm fuzzies but other then that just run it.

07 even got a belt? Thought the civics were some chain shitpile by then

gas oil coolant
fill them
if it is a belt, don't bother changing the oil, change the filter every 10k
if it is a chain like I think it is, oil and filter every 5k
when the trans fluid turns brown change it

'07 should be a chain.

Gas, oil, rock on.
Edit; Confirmed, it's a chain. 100K is nothing to that car.

Sell it to me. I’m local and I commute to Vegas for work
I’ll give it a yearly washing and yearly oil change. Nothing more. I do 30-40k a year with this commute.

Well, it is coming up on the 105k mile service, so you could put new plugs in it. If you find a belt inside of that I4, it means I won't have to change the one in my 07 Accord with a V6, 'cause you have my belt. You really live with your parents? You ought to get another 150k miles out of the Civic, so don't count on it blowing up so your Mom stops driving.

Youíre bitching about a 11 year old Asian made car like itís a 45 year old American made car. Stop living in the past, 100k isnít shit for miles anymore.

You'd think in 66 years you would've moved out of your parents by now.

Yeppers! I have the privilege of taking care of my parents of 88 years old. They took care of me for the first eighteen years of my life; it is the least I can now do. I joined the Navy at eighteen; never asked my parents for anything and never will.
Yeah, I kid about moving in with my parents; I bought the house cash, at fair market when I moved in last year.

I am now living that dream...

Props to you for doing right by your parents. Awesome that you can and are doing that. I doubt most of us will be that fortunate in our golden years.
