Wife's ex-husband got a domestic charge on him. Just trying to protect the step daughter. Ive searched and all I can come up with is 3rd party sites wanting me to pay for a subscription to their shitty site. He is in the Navy and is a deadbeat dad. We have tried to encourage the relationship between them but don't want her to get smacked around while he is in a drunken stupor.

Didn't he get popped for carrying onto a naval yard?

I had a friend get a domestic charge because his girlfriend/wife (can't remember at that point) who was pregnant said he pushed her. INSTANT domestic charge. After that I'm not as concerned when I hear someone is charged with domestic battery until I get more details.

Why not pay for the information on the websites you've found? How much is your step daughters safety worth to you?

@IEATRKS84 must of been someone else.

@H8DWINGS no worries she isn't going to be spending any time with him. And he is a known drunk and has had the police called on him multiple times by his GF. Cops pressed charges last time and arrested him. She didn't want to so I don't see why she called the cops or if someone else did???

So you care if your step daughter gets smacked around by a guy she won't be spending time with even though you've tried to encourage a relationship with. Do I understand this correctly?

Just pay the money if you want to find out the details, or let it go since she won't be having a relationship with him.

All I will say is Virginia is completely fucked when it comes to "domestic violence". Pretty much bumping into your significant other will get you that charge and if it's against a female, you can bet you will be convicted. If that person happens to live with you or you have a child in common or is otherwise "family", then you get the violence against a family member bit and can no longer own firearms. I know a bunch of people, men and women, who have caught that shit and most of the people I know think it's just an excuse to push the anti-gun thing.

@H8DWINGS That's originally why I just asked if anyone had a way of finding this sort of thing and not giving much detail. Because someone reads too much into it or things get misconstrued like now. As of this weekend, when we found out about the charges, she will no longer be around him. Before we would try to get him to spend time with her because I have kids from a previous marriage and I know how it is.

And no im not going to give some shady internet site my billing info. Was just seeing if anyone else had given their billing info to said shady internet sites

Better?

nothing calls the cops faster than white trash andssss

@gunracer1 Agree 100%. The wife and I were both wondering this as well. Story is the GF had done it a couple times before.

@Elwenil Yes Va is a screwed up state. And domestic violence charges are handed out like candy in any state.

Yeah, it's insane and it doesn't have to even be someone involved to call the police for it to happen. Some counties are fucking horrible about it as well.

Buddy of mine a couple years ago got in an argument with his gf. I was there, neighbor called Henrico PD. They showed up, she was adamant about it just being an argument and no one had touched anyone. I told them the same thing and my friend left in handcuffs anyway. He spent thousands on an attorney to get the charges dropped because Henrico charged him even without her accusing him of anything.

Henrico does the same shit with assault. Former coworker and friend was a good dude, his ex is complete white trash but they have kids together. He's never missed a child support payment. Went to pay her one day and her bf at the time ran his mouth about him needing to pay sooner. Lost his temper and decked the guy. Neighbor saw it and called Henrico PD. The bf told them he didn't want to press charges and that no one in the house called them. They charged my friend anyway and the county pursued it. Ended up pleading on it because he couldn't afford an attorney and the judge gave him like 6 months of weekend jail over it.

The legal system in this state sucks no matter which party is controlling the local gov.

Not really. You made up your mind about keeping this girl from her father and then wanted to get the details of his arrest. Just keep the kid from her dad and keep your nose out of his business, or go visit him and ask what happened because you and your wife are concerned about him being around his daughter now that he was arrested for a domestic charge.

Multiple stories here about guys being arrested for domestic charges, no one wanting to press charges (or nothing happened), and the police (pretty much) deciding someone was going to jail that night. In my friends case the pregnant lady called the cops at "O-dark-30" and just wanted them to moderate the conversation they were having. She didn't realize a pregnant lady calling the cops saying her boyfriend/husband pushed her then left would result in an arrest and cops weren't going to arrest a pregnant lady with 3 kids in the house (one was my friend's son) so the domestic charge went to my friend. Along with something like resisting arrest or fleeing the scene. The cops had to text him to tell him to come back from his walk so he could be arrested. He just went to cool off.

Is this your decision or even your wife's decision to make?

Seems like the court makes the determination.

@H8DWINGS Then nothing I say will clear your skewed view. You must have been charged with assault at some point or know someone that has and possibly wrongly so. I was only asking to confirm the story we heard. And as far as asking the dad, well he is a compulsive liar as well and would never admit to anything. I have several instances to back this up but I'm not going to go into detail about for you to pick things out and draw conclusions. I just asked a question and obviously you are zero help but want to stick your nose in places it doesn't belong.

@Grumpy356 It is totally our decision. He walked out on his wife and kid and said he didn't want to be a father and told Them to move out of Virginia so he could bang an 18yo. He gave up all his parental rights. As shitty as we know he is, His little girl still loves him and we have tried to encourage the relationship(on our terms H8DWINGS so you don't think we don't care about her and let her be with a shit head by herself or whatever you let creep into your head) as much as possible.

@H8DWINGS Im not trying to pick on you or say that the ex is guilty of anything. I know the system is fucked up and victimizes innocent people just to generate revenue for the county or state court systems. There is a lot going on that's hard to explain and just know that neither one of us would let anything happen to the daughter. He can be in town and not say anything to us to let us try and arrange a meeting so she can see her dad or we all go out to eat just so she can see her dad more than once a year at Christmas if she is luck. She is slowly realizing he is a piece of shit and is starting to not care if she sees him anyways. She pretty much calls me dad now but me having kids prior to now I know I couldn't live without being a part of my kids life. I just have to realize not every dad is like me.
