I live just outside Winnipeg and I've been to Gillam several times for work.

90% of Canada's population lives within 200 km of the US border. Most everything else is sparse and deserted. I don't believe they're wandering around in the bush. Not in that region - it's very harsh there.

My guess is that they kidnapped a person, or a couple the day they burned the Rav4 and left town with them in their vehicle. They need someone because they themselves can't use their own bank cards, credit cards or cell phones for fear of being tracked.

Red face

GOOD thing Canadia banned guns, so killers on the run can't hurt anybody.

And no one, can hurt anyone else!

I've put some time in up there as well. Polar bears and Indians. If one don't kill you the other will.

This is my guess as well. Or they killed another person and did a better job hiding the body before leaving with their car.

Stupid to run to northern Manitoba. Giant fucking swamp with no people. If they ran south and slipped the border they'd have a reasonable chance of being able to blend in with all the other trash. Where they went it's basically a crime to be white. Good luck with that.

Canada murders: Royal Canadian Air Force joins hunt for suspects in Lucas Fowler killing
BY BRIDGET JUDD

VIDEO 0:46 The Royal Canadian Air Force has arrived in northern Manitoba (Picture: RCMP Manitoba).
ABC NEWS
The Royal Canadian Air Force joined the hunt for Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod, the two men wanted in connection with the murder of Australian man Lucas Fowler, as authorities searched abandoned buildings and dense Manitoba wilderness inhabited by polar bears.

Key points:
Authorities have searched more than 100 empty homes and abandoned buildings, one with over 600 rooms, in northern Manitoba
During an aerial search for the suspects north of Gillam, police sighted a polar bear
Police said there were no new sightings of the suspects to indicate they had fled the area
The triple-murder suspects have been on the run since July 19, when their burning vehicle was discovered near the body of 64-year-old Leonard Dyck — just days after the bodies of Mr Fowler, 23, from Sydney and his American girlfriend, Chynna Deese, 24, were discovered on a highway in British Columbia.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has been scouring northern Manitoba, where a second burnt-out car was found on Tuesday.

A Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130H Hercules plane has since arrived in the area to help with the search, while RCMP officers check inside homes and buildings in the Gillam area, as well as an Indigenous reserve known as Fox Lake Cree Nation.

Gillam, a town of 1,300 people on the Nelson River in northeast Manitoba, is surrounded by thousands of hectares of forest wilderness and has been described as "the end of the road".

"Over 100 empty homes have been thoroughly searched in the Town of Gillam," RCMP Manitoba said in a statement.

"Officers are also searching large abandoned buildings like the Keewatinohk Converter Station Camp, near Gillam, which has over 600 rooms."

During an aerial search for the suspects about 200 kilometres north of Gillam on Sunday, authorities encountered a polar bear, cautioning that it was "just some of the wildlife that can be found in northern Manitoba".

RCMP Manitoba

@rcmpmb
Not only are our officers combing through kilometers of dense northern forest, they’re also challenged with searching & clearing large abandoned buildings like this one (with approx. 600 rooms) at the Keewatinohk Converter Station Camp, near Gillam. #rcmpmb @manitobahydro

According to police, there have been no new sightings of Mr Schmegelsky or Mr McLeod that would indicate they had fled the area.

However, investigators remained "open to the possibility", and were urging anyone who may have inadvertently provided assistance to the suspects to come forward

Since the RCMP have a history of not being able to find theirs asses with both hands, a flashlight and mirror I’d say the boys have a good chance of getting away

Yeah the mounties are looking pretty useless right now. I'm convinced the fugitives are nowhere near northern Manitoba anymore. Probably in Nova Scotia with all the time they've had to travel

Canuckistan law... Citizen's arrests are only allowed when it is "not feasible" for a police officer to make the arrest. Besides that, frozen snowballs are not much of a weapon against armed criminals!

Since the Law Dogs say no touch, well, no touch. I sure don't want to be locked up in an igloo for a few years!

these Canadians sure don't put out much info.If they would say if they have any sign of them in the search would be nice. The suspects could easily have got another victim and car before they burned the rav4, and got out of there.I read one didn't drive but up there he could learn quick. Just hid the body this time. Also if they never burned their truck no one would have a clue who did any of it .the truck put them in the spotlight .Truck was a nice rig too .

It's not as bad as living in an Alberta Forestry camp, I'll tell you that.

I did a gig in Banff one time, and the other tech I was with was sitting away from me, but ended up next to two guys that were also entertainment techs, from Atlanta or wherever. Anyway we land in Calgary, and at the international arrival gate there's several Canucks in uniforms, I dunno what agency they work for, but it's pretty obvious they're looking for drug smuggers or other such bad actors. The line I was in was staffed by this butch looking female, (Dirty Comanche would hit it I'm sure), and she asks the guy in front of me, (one of the two techs from Atlanta), "Are you here in Canada for business or pleasure?", and dipshit says, "Pleasure". So dyke says "What is in your luggage", and dipshit says, "Video equipment". Bitch went off on him, threatened to send him away in handcuffs, etc..

When it was my turn I said, "Business. I'm here to work with a Canadian production team." She said, "Welcome to Canada".

Possible shooting and suspects may have been caught near York Landing Manitoba, about 120 miles from the initial search area
