I read something the other day that said the suburban name is the longest continous running name plate in production. Since 1935!

The more you know!

Not really since suburban didnt really start untill 67. Before that they were carryalls.

And "v"10 is what gm changed 4x4 to in 88 when the new body style came out.
1960-87 k=4x4
1988 k 4x4 is the ifs gmt400 trucks.

V and r replaced k and c on the sqr body trucks.

And its not even "10" eother. They changed to 1500 in the early 80s. So its a v1500

What's so hard to understand? It's the way GM stupidly renamed their trucks

The Chevrolet Suburban is a full-size SUV from Chevrolet. It is the longest continuous use automobile nameplate in production, starting in 1935 for the 1935 U.S. model year, and has traditionally been one of General Motors' most profitable vehicles.[1] The 1935 first generation Carryall Suburban was one of the first production all-metal bodied station wagons.

It's on Wikipedia, so it. Must be fact!

Chevrolet began production of its all-steel "carryall-suburban" in 1935.[2] GMC brought out its version in 1937. These vehicles were also known as the "Suburban Carryall" until GM shortened the name to simply "Suburban".

Ummm. No. The 7th gen Suburbans while built on the C/K platform were designated the R/V10 or R/V20 through 91. The 1500/2500 designation was only on the trucks. And the Suburban has carried the Suburban name since 1935 in one form or another

Only reason this one is rare is because the rest of them rusted away into piles of debris.

Welcome to the thread! Re-read the title and how it pertains to the linked CL ad. It may shed some light on the theme of this thread so you can at least be aware of it before you open your trap.

I guess I should consider myself lucky you took time away from Fox and the rest of your "who gives a fuck" threads to quote my contribution to this one.

Carry on.

Created a marginal thread last night. Woke up this morning and the direction it took did not disappoint.
