Ok...I do not believe in ghosts, wives tales, superstitions or anything like that..

but I shit you not, and swear on the lives of my three boys that this actually happened this morning, today: September 4th.....Screwy died a year ago on the 5th...

For those of you that do not know, I am a high school teacher. I teach several Business and Communications classes, Leadership, and currently I have 3 classroom driver's education classes.

A few weeks after Screwy died last year, I posted a picture of him at the front of my classroom. (with his widow's permission)

The reasoning was to create a "teachable moment." If some kid in my class asked, "Hey, who is that on your wall?" I could bring up the story of my "brother in Clamperdom" and on-line friend in the 4x4 world...and how I lost him because he did not wear his seat belt. Which would then lead into a discussion about the importance of seat belts..

Well, go figure. I put his picture up, and not one damned kid asks about it...

Until today. Almost exactly a year since he has passed. (1 day shy)

When the kid pointed to the picture this morning and I turned to look at what he was pointing too...I got the chills.

RIP Screwy.

Miss you man.

Oh...and yes. I make my 1st period kids say the pledge everyday to that flag. Very few high school teachers do that anymore.

Have you shown your class any video of Doins?

Well...even if there WERE any videos of said events... I doubt my boss would be very keen on me showing them. :flipoff2:

Oh, there are videos, even of your chapter. :flipoff2:

RIP Screwzer.

I'm just stunned that's been a year already.

Damn time flies.

Norm 09-04-2019 03:59 PM

You need a caption on that picture that reads " Amsterdam Geothermal "

guidolyons 09-04-2019 03:59 PM

Damn, it's been a year already. Miss that little troll.

RiP Screwy.

Jackie Treehorn 09-04-2019 04:06 PM

RIP Screwy

I was never even tempted to block him, like I have done several others

RiP Screwy.

I was surprised it was only a year, I would have guessed 2. RIP.

I miss arguing with him. Too bad hes gone and we're stuck with the likes of douchecanoe.

brewchief 09-04-2019 08:22 PM

I was thinking about him today, friend of mine was telling me that he's going to Amsterdam to install some flooring for a friend because she can't find anybody there to do it. Thought to myself that's a perfect job for screwy, then I got sad.

Aw man, I didn't know he passed, I don't spend much time here. RIP. I'm genuinely very sad to hear this.

This. I mostly disagreed with him and have had arguments with him over a number of issues, But he is honestly the only deceased member that has made me sad about their passing. At various times I may have wished his demise, but he was a stimulating little troll. Being an older PBB member ( OG from the late 90's before the crash) I have seen a number of people come and go, but that fucker sticks with me and to this day is the only gofundme I have ever contributed to.

Nothing.... my Leadership kids threw a "Freshman Luau" for the incoming 9th graders, and that is just a decoration from that event that I put on my white-board.

The rest of my class is decked out in 4x4 stuff

4runner 09-05-2019 01:04 PM

Awesome post, I'm glad to see that someone cared enough to memorialize him.
Looks like a fun class.
