Rzr question

I am seeing prices all over the map. I want to know what this one might be worth https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...7528307736613/ anything I should stay away from? Is a 800S much better than a 800? Any bad years? Any info on them will help, new to sxs's.

Just talking about the old 800 here. I had a 800s and my buddy had a base 800.

The 800 is very outdated now, but still fun as hell to run. Stock on stock, the S is much better than the base model. The extra control arm length and Fox shocks completely change everything in the handling dept and abilities vs the base model and to me, was well worth the upgrade. I even went one step further and upgraded the control ares with high clearance and extended wheelbase ones. That really helped too. Once I got the suspension dialed in, it was a very capable machine for what it was. I miss mine.

That particular one looks very clean and well modified, but the price seems high for one that is that old. Iím a cheap ass though.

Get a 900 or 1000 xp, not S. The trailing arm suspension is well worth it. If you're going to mod it get a 1000 for the aftermarket.

It's going to depend on what kind of riding you want to do.... in the woods slow-speed I think the 800 or 800s would probably be okay

If you want to go any type of speed get an XP 1000 and nothing else...

I had an XP 1000 and I now have a turbo the turbo is even better suspension than the XP 1000.... you also get bigger brakes larger front and rear shocks and front swaybar..

I tried riding in the woods with a friend's 800, and after driving my EXP I can't even get in the 800 anymore it beats the crap out of you

A stock XP 1000 non-turbo will outrun and ride nicer than a 800 or 900 hands down

The xp is far easier to change the belt on than the 800. The 800 is from the days of the Rhino. It's horribly outdated at this point.

looks like the bro dozer of sxs's. and still wanting near msrp.

the new hot shit sxs's are hard to beat. but funny how people are stupid enough to buy old crap that sounds like a lawn mower for near original purchase price.

for fucks sake buy a cheap jeep or three, four, five of em.

or drink the kool-aid.

i can understand the 25grand for the new ones.hp, suspension, and time tested. cant beat the value. its like buying a computer in the early days, everybody sees the new not understanding the old is light years behind in development. you can buy a brand new china model thats twice machine for half the cost than an old rzr... but your neighbor wont think 'thats cool bro'

So by me asking "what is this worth?" you read: woohoo I am wanting to pay full msrp on a 6 year old rzr? And you think paying 25k instead of 8-10k would get me one with better performance? Well no sh...

Ya. Itís not rocket surgery that every new model is better than the old one. I am seriously surprised the 800ís are still going for what they are, though. To be honest, I wouldn't pay more than about $6k for any 800, but thatís me.

I would try to find a 900xp, though. They are much more machine for roughly the same price as a 800 (just from a quick local search). No matter what, they are all fun as hell to drive, no matter how old or outdated they are.

Get the xp fuck the independent rear. I have a 1000xp and that thing can jump right out of the box! We built a 4í tall ramp that you hit at 55mph. It lands so perfect itís stupid. I love taking buddies for a ride. You wanna go jump the rzr? They say sure I toss them a helmet and give them a ride. The pure panic when I come around the corner a line up to the ramp is priceless. After it lands like a dream every one of the guys says I need one of these haha.

msrp of a '13 800rzr was 11,500. so yes spending 8-10k on a 6 year old one is dumb.

i'm saying the new xp models at 17-25k will buy you 10x the machine that 800 is. and you cant match their performance for the dollar. why spend 8-10k on a cool golf cart, when you can buy a real 4x4 for half the price?

get it?

Didn't the 800's have a problem with the pinion nut backing off and blowing out the rear end?

yes, you must take it apart and replace the Pinion Nut.

Quite a PITA but if not done it will 100% blow apart one day and they are getting harder to find.

I bought a 800s earlier this year, just sold it for $200 less than I paid for it.

I found that I didn't use it near as much as I thought I would.

Currently looking for cheap 2 door Trac-Kick to use on occasion.

Bought this for $6,200 beginning of this year and just sold it for $6k

It's amazing at how much better a track kick is for ranch duty. I've had a couple SXS's and they always end up sitting.
