Pray for me. I'm telling my wife how much it will be to fix what I broke.

Well...

Once again I find myself staring into my own eyes in the mirror. Trying to be brave, but knowing those eyes hide fear. You see, tonight, I explain to the Mrs. what negative 2.6 and 2.4 camber mean. I will explain why the problem needs fixing, but can't be; only replacement. The replacement. The replacement is $3900.

$3900, completely avoidable. Just a hobby. $3900 we can't really afford. I need a new axle assembly, as I've bent my front stock Dana44.

Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust.

Anyone have similar trouble-with-the-Mrs stories to make mine seem not so bad?

PS, FS: Bent Dana 44.

Yup. A nice 8 chunk of heavy I beam some 1/2 chain and a 20 ton bottle jack should get you back in business. Once straight weld some braces on the axle. Should be able to fix for a couple hundred bucks and a six pack of beer.

you know the DXX numbers have nothing to do with price right?

A d44 isnt $4400...

A D60 isnt $6000... etc.

Just bend it back and truss it. $100. MAX.

What kind of vehicle is it?

Do you do the work yourself?

I bought a currie HP 44 housing with gears, TJ brackets, jk inner cs and arb for considerably less. (W/o balljoints). Call around.

Does your current housing have chro-mo axles or a locker? Or are you selling an upgrade as repairs?

All you fawktards don't have a clue.

That 3900 isn't for repairing a 'bent' d44. Yeah, the OP may have a bent d44, but that money ain't going towards that goal.

JK

Yes

No, Yes, kind of.

Stock housing not good enough. I'd like to upgrade it if I'm replacing. I'm on the stock ball joints, so those need to go. I'd like to upgrade the axleshafts too. I suppose I can simply get a new housing and transfer, but I'm admittedly not super-confident in my gearing ability. Last time I did my own locker I think I punctured the axle seal as it started leaking out of the end of the driver's tube after I got it all together.

CSB.

Pro tip - just hit the mall curb with the 2.4 side until it matches the 2.6 side. Problem solved

Superpoopy 05+ 60 with all the bracktry should be sub $900. With locker and gears should be sub $2000. No way in hell would I even pay even $1000 or really anything for a 44.
Hell I'd bet if you asked nicely and posted pics of your wifes turd cutter someone on here would give you a straight 44 housing.

DAMN!
Some hardcore wheeling to bend one of those. I don't think even a KOH competitor has ever done that! You get a cookie! Get a D30, they're cheaper to come by.

Jk, huh? Toss a used axle in and try to hit the speed bumps in the parking lot a little slower from now on.
