Bwahahah, one of the Libtard friends on FB just lost his shit over Trump repealing the standards. I had to call him out on deleting all emissions equip and tuning his F350 and all of his diesel plow trucks.

If you've ever been to the Grand Canyon, especially in the winter, you'll know this really isn't true. California smog has been ruining the view up there for decades.

ford/chevy didn't need to sell there, it was just more costly but still worth it.

nothing wrong with a state setting their own standards, in a sense. it will be fun in 5-10 years when internal combustion engines are outlawed to see if driving really is more of a right or privilege

I thought it was the coal powered Navajo Generating Station that ruined the Grand Canyon views.

The wind blows from the west, not the east.

One little coal fired plant puts some steam up in the air.
30 million Californians put a little more crap than that in the air.

Actually, the smog has more than one source.

However, Grand Canyon National Park (NP), Arizona, world-renowned for its breathtakingly iconic views, lies downwind of polluted air from coal-fired power plants in the Four Corners region, nearby mining, and urban and industrial pollutants from Mexico and California.

Doubtful. You still have to deal with the EPA. They said federal requirements.

So you people in Cali are fine with CARB going away? I know they screwed you bad on the Diesel emission report years ago.

Wrong. You know I won't defend California, but a fact is a fact.
Mainly from the SSW in the summer and NNE in the winter. Like RIGHT now this very minute.

What happened to state's rights? Oh right, that only applies to GOP backed policies.

As much as like to annoy the CA ruling class, it's a 10th Amendment issue and should be decided by the states.... Same as 90% of what the feds do.

No need to get happy the Ninth Circus will issue a finding that Trump can't do it, then it'll have to go all the way to the Supreme Court.

Making and selling cars is interstate commerce. It is usually reserved for the feds. That is why CA can’t change the $300 impact fee anymore.

CARB changed just as every other agency in CA and the Country changed as exisitng engineeers and scientists were replaced through age and attrition with new UC Santa Cruz and Berkeley or UC Colorado air heads. I completely applaud the Trump administration for shackling the out of control state agency.

Edit: watch the UC system ban travel to any state that doesn't follow the CA limits set by CARB or to Washington DC because der Leader resides there.

Also....

Quote:
The move comes after the Justice Department recently opened an antitrust investigation into a deal between California and four automakers for tougher pollution and related mileage requirements than those sought by Trump.

states over ruling feds by going more strict with national stuff is a fed issue and should not be a state issue.

eliminate nhtsa/epa/et al and let the states set their own standard = fine with me

allowing carb to dictate epa standards is absurd

is the gaining state being demonstrably harmed by the pollution?

not using the esoteric "global warming will kill us all" standard
