My only issue with JKs is the shitty engines but that's easily fixed with a LS Swap. The issue most folks have is with JK Owners like the American Jeeper type folks who buy some bolt-ons and 35's then run over an innocent bystander.

When the Cj7 came out, my club put a wheelbase restriction on a lot of trails, no way that stupid long CJ7 (93") can keep up with a proper CJ5/Flat Fender (80"-83").
I don't even know about the 4 door jeeps, or the JTs, I assume those are only measured in football fields.

Rebuttal? To what? You own a Jeep Cherokee minivan, any of the “various points” you’ve made have zero value.

This is something that Jeep & Toyota owners alike can agree on.

I’m currently in the market for a JK or JL. I’ve grown tired of wheeling once a year in a purpose built rig. I will not Jeep wave you.

I think they look good and are very capable in near stock trim. I'll never own one due to the type of people that own them. (not all, I've wheeled with cool JK owners).

JK's are kinda gay but kinda nice too. They wont party like a beat down toyota on 37s but they are comfortable to hit the trail for a few days and drive 70 mph home with little issue,. I like mine overall I would buy/built one again

Why do JK owners think that PBB members give a crap about their JK?

Drive what you want. I don't care.

Only thing I have noticed with them is how WIDE they are. Pulled in next to one in my wife's XJ and did not realize how much bigger they are compared to the XJ.

But then my MIL's Honda is also wider! Perhaps the side intrusion crash standards have bloated everything.

What? A California organization trying to infringe on the wheelbase rights of it's members? You don't say.

I’m at 104” and it’s amazing that I can even wheel at all. Must be just another reason why I think clubs are dumb as fawk.

maybe to the outside of the tire. The JK axles are almost the same width as a full size chevy. The body is way narrow and the fenders make them look big

My 2 worthless cents;
Who cares what you wheel, everyone has a reason for what they wheel.
There are assholes everywhere and in every hobby, but it does seem like there are more douche canoe JK owners than anything. Not the vehicles fault, its just a fad.
On that topic, there are a lot of fads that I think are ghey. JKs with bolt ons and angry eyes and whatever else gayness they can put on a credit card and shiny toyo mud tires that have only seen dirt in a construction zone.
Toyotas in general I think are one. They aren't special but there prices are stupid. Just another jap car but 3 times more money than a comparable nissan or domestic. Not at all a better car in any way, just has that stupid circle on the front.

Another pet peeve on the same lines is all the lifted trucks around here from Watts auto. Wheels wider than tires with no sidewall and the cheapest chinese lifts available so they have to slow down to go over cracks in the road. I think we could all agree these guys are douchebags.

Last topic, I don't remember near the hate for the TJ as the YJ or JK got.

You'll get mad props at the jeep meet ups yo. There's a ton of JK's running around here with $10K+ in aftermarket axles and 0 rockrash. I know I can't look at a harder trail without scraping something under the Jeep but maybe I don't have JK wheeling powers. I think they put these axles under just for the I'm cool factor and because the internet says you need 40's and 1 tons to run a 2 track not because they actually use their $50K jeep with $30k of junk bolted on.

Not jealous. Every-time I tailgun, I have to get out of my rig many times to pickup all the junk that gets torn off and left on the trail by them. Then when we stop, I hold up the parts to be claimed and no one will own up to them. Then I have to go to the drivers and SHOW them the parts is theirs.

I like the JK for the most part. I hate most JK owners for all the bolt on crap and led wheel lights. A few years ago when my TJ got stolen I was looking at JK. They have a lot of electrical issues. Went with a low mileage TJ.

Small short wheelbase was where it was back in the 70's, no one wheeled a something over 100".
